Yeah Im going to agree with you on this!

You go on the road and you have two new coordinators in key spots, ( yeah they've been in the program and the system for a while) doesn't change the fact there calling games for the first time though and any coach will tell you that it's a tough task....

Special teams coach needs to be shit canned! Im serious how in the hell do you come into a season after the kicking game lost you games last year and you still miss FG's!

Yeah Im pissed they missed a golden opportunity, but in all likely hood Miami getting there ass handed to them and the close score on this, Dawgs stay in the top 10.
Um, Petersen coaches the ST.

And if he deserves to be slammed it's for the HORRIBLE coverage. They were lucky one punt return was called back for a penalty or the numbers that were already bad would have been even worse.

It was game 1 and we get that, but it's inexcusable for a veteran team with a HC known for assignment discipline to have piss poor tackling and entirely blown lane assignments on several returns.

That was the most disappointing aspect of this game. You can accept losing to a team that is just more talented and beats you. It is a much more bitter pill to swallow when you simply weren't prepared enough and didn't play with the fundamentals you demand from a program that is this mature.

In fact, Petersen hasn't had an acceptable first road game in his tenure here. And I really don't get it because he was known for his early games while at Boise State.

In '14 they went on the road to Hawaii and were awful. Got the win, but they were just bad. Didn't look much better at home the following week. in '15 they opened at Boise State and we all remember how terrible that first half was. Again, more just bad fundamentals. Really piss poor tackling. BSU was better prepared. In '16 their first road game was at Arizona in week 4 and they were lucky to come out with a win in OT after just looking lost much of the game. And last year at Rutgers once again a shitty first half where they didn't look ready to play.

They are too far along with their program to still be this bad out of the gate. It isn't acceptable at all. First game or not. The other teams are also in their first game and still able to tackle and don't look like deer in headlights for the first quarter.

Beavers cover the over/under win total for 2018 at 2.5 wins easily. That's what heard.
Hard to take that away from that game. That was game 1 against a much more talented team, but one rocked in scandal with their HC suspended and all that surrounded that fall camp.

I would take some encouragement for what you saw from your offense, but before you start making bowl plans, that defense has issues that most of the conference can easily exploit.
you boyz did make the CF playoffs last year whiz…quite an accomplishment, no?
They made it two years ago. You keep bringing that up as though JS was entirely the reason. They had a special talent. Special players can easily make up for average coaching. Time and time again Ross made broken plays into big gains. That kid was on another level.

After Ross left, so did the offense in general. JS didn't build his plays on offense to match the kids he still had. It was glaring.

So we could say "OKG" are a bunch of pussies when they hit the big lights?

I don't know why, but this team really isn't ready for early season road games and hasn't been in any season so far. And the same staff at BSU destroyed teams better than them by being way more ready in those games.

There really is no excuse for what we are seeing in those games.

Posted a thread about this, but Trey Adams will be out for most of the season with a back injury.

Huge blow to the Husky offense.

Some of these guys are just dip shits but what will shut them up is coming up big and finding ways to win these games. Bama from 2 yrs ago was a tough game but PSU last year was winnable and Saturdays game was very winnable.

Yeah PSU last year and this past weekend, something needs to get done to get them over the hump,
Once that happens this will lift the program higher and there wont be this UW cant win on the road against a top ten team!

Better play calling and when they do get it, need better execution. Washington had Auburn on the ropes in that 3rd Q and that lack of killer mentality kept Auburn around enough to score the W.

Luckily the polls didn't fuck us over too badly.

We need to run the table now.

No room for an ASU type loss this year.

Agreed. I was very surprised they dropped only 3 spots. I was figuring they would have dropped to 12 or 13.

Actually I thought they wont drop them that far.
Miami and Penn St looked like crap, and again not to beat the dead horse Dawgs did go cross country to play Auburn at home and lost by 5......
