Driaz and the Cornhuskers are relieved after a near mishap against Ohio State.

Driaz diving for 16 yard TD​

The Huskers got off to a quick start against conference foe Ohio State when Chuck led the team down field for the first TD. Driaz added a score of his own to make it 14-0 when Ohio State started to rally. Oakie made the blunder of the year by reaching too far for a punt and stepping out of bounds in the end zone, resulting in a safety. Oakie said after the game "damn man, I don't even know what happened on that play, I don't even know..." Ohio State added 2 TD's of their own to take the lead.

Quarterback JJM was forced out of the game early in the third quarter with a minor shoulder injury and wasn't happy about his exit "I COULDA PLAYED DADBURNIT!!" Coach Frost wasn't too keen on having his players injured more severely than necessary, and said "Ron can lead this team if he needs to, you guys saw that." Ron Kellogg hit Driaz for two more scores before the end of the game, and the Huskers eeked out a 32-10 win that was quite a bit closer than the score would indicate.

Driaz played by far his best game of the season pulling in 7 passes for 109 yards and 3 TD's. After the game he commented "It was tough being out early in the season, but I got my groove on now, and nothing gonna stop me."

Junior College DT transfer Marion Cobretti, fresh off his early season suspension for marijuana use, didn't show up on the stat sheet, but played a monster game containing Ohio State QB Braxton Miller. Coach Frost said "man that guys gonna be a special player for us if he gets his ass out of his ass."

The Huskers look to continue their recent success against Northwestern in 2 weeks.
