An interesting article on how Wade Phillips and the Denver D shut down the Patriots offense.

Basically take the model from the 2010 loss to the Jets and do it again.

How Broncos' Wade Phillips fooled Brady, Patriots

This kind of pisses me off. For a coaching staff that is supposed to be so thorough, ignoring that game plan in preparing for the Broncos just seems like a huge mistake.

They should have reviewed that game.

Probably why we're now seeing a shakeup in the staff. This team didn't show it's typical December grit (against a very weak slate no-less).

It was imperative to score first ... the crowd noise had the O line still frozen when the spread D line left their stance since they had a better view of the snap ... which was continually snapped at the same time on the play clock ... and a center that telegraphed every snap with his head bob ... and that was the cherry on top of the fact that every NE receiver was hobbled and slowed from injuries ... add no running game at all and it was odd NE did as well as they did ...

The poor coaching and prep for the conditions was terrible, but losing to Miami was the eff up ... Wade's job was an easy one

While the injuries at OL and RB certainly hurt our chances, failure to shore up these positions when BB had the chance might be the basic fault. For the past several years, the Pats have concentrated on defensive players in the first two rounds of the draft, leaving the middle to late rounds for items like OL, RB and WR. It showed this year, as the defense was very strong all season and it was the offense that had depth problems when injuries hit. DeGuglielmo was the unfortunate recipient of this lack of depth and lack of top draft choices. He was unable to make lemonade out of lemons like Scar did and paid the price. Hopefully, BB will put offensive linemen and running backs at the top of the list, both in the draft and in free agent signings. There are free agents out there that could help, if their current teams don't re sign them. Mitchell Schwartz (Browns) and Kelvin Beachum (Steelers) are good OL targets. Matt Forte (Bears) and Lamar Miller (Dolphins) for RB. They may be too pricey for BB, but at least one or two of them would really help.

Like my wife says......everybody has a bad day now and then. You don't get to pick those days. All around, it was just not a good day for the Patriots.

Mostly....bad decisions by the coaching staff, primarily Bill Belichick.

1. Should have deferred the kick off.
2. Should have kicked a FG on 4th and 6 and not gone for the TD

#2 is the most critical. If they had kicked the FG the score would have been 20-15. The Td with 14 seconds would have been the end and the Patriots would have moved on.

It's done, it's over. Bitchin' about it won't change a thing. Time to move on.

Apparently Stork was tipping off the snap count....This offense just seemed so unprepared for this game.

Simple the Broncos D-line knew the snap count and were faster and the Patriots OL didn't
