Not condoning at all what he did or absolving him, and it's pretty clear the girl in question was absolutely traumatized by it (as I imagine any would), but taking responsibility and the fact he was still a minor himself when he did this should afford him the opportunity to try and right himself going forward. Don't think this is, like you said, the equivalent of what Miller did.

I'd be fine with Edvinsson, but really don't see the Jackets passing on Clarke or Hughes if either is there. We'll see.

Yeah, there's some serious shit being talked about Edvinsson from Jackets fans. He seems like a solid defender, is huge and can really skate well for a guy that big in the (admittedly cherry-picked) highlights I have seen. I would be fine with him, but I don't see him offering anything worth passing on Clarke or Hughes if either is there. And agreed, NJ would be foolish to pass on Hughes. I hope they are, but I don't think they are.

A lot of "insiders" are saying the Jackets have had the most conversations with Edvinsson and McTavish.

Funny Lakovic story, he was skating with the broker league where I used to run a team.
a "tough guy" challenges him (there were a ton of fights in this league) and Sasha does his best to decline.
"you really don't want to do this. bad idea, I'm just here for a skate" etc
The guy had no idea who Shasha was, and nevertheless he persisted.

it was a VERY quick fight.
