Sure I can order shrimp in both cities, but it's not like the shrimp down South is what I'm getting at.

Yeah, that Lowcountry shrimp is the best man... you need to GTFO yankee land if they can't cook up good seafood.

NOTE: I lived in the NYC/Long Island area for 6 years, and yes, it is truly horrible.

L.A. (Primary Residence) is worse that NYC. But the lobster and crab gets better and better the further north you go.

nothin like catching your own shrimp or crabs and boiling them up fresh! September can't get here soon enough. I only have about 10lbs of shrimp left in the freezer.

Lobster is superb in Yankee land, but I'd rather have some good oysters and shrimp any day... :hungry:

When I make a low-country boil/frogmore stew out here, the shrimp just aren't the same.

Another peanut habit I developed down south was to get a bottle of your favorite root beer, drink about 1/4 of it, and pour a bag of peanuts in. That way you get a couple of peanuts to munch on with the swig.

Works good for long drives

People actually do this? I've never heard of it before.

Oh, and we have a place in Toledo, OH that boils peanuts.

Peanuts. Georgia. At least Jimmy Carter was right about SOMETHING.

But who else here has picked them off the root and ate them raw? Not so good that way.
