I guess when talking about defense and stats the one player I'm unsure about is Greg Maddux.
Does WAR factor in how much his defensive prowess adds to the mix? Team defense as a whole actually factors against WAR in a minor way and Maddux has all of those gold gloves and maybe that just gets baked into his pitching stats.
