Warriors are not going to be trading Russell until next summer in my opinion unless Thompson comes back before the trade deadline and that is doubtful. If Thompson returns before the season ends and has recovered completely, then they will flip him for the closest thing to Durant.

If they won't trade him, they'll most probably miss the playoffs next season...

It's not a matter of comparing the two that makes me predict that they won't make it to the playoffs if they play Russell on 2...It's rather that the two players are totally different... Russell can't play like Thompson nor Klay like Russell... One is an On ball guard, the other is an off ball wing...

Heck... even old Korver would be a better fit in Thompson's abscence...

That's where it is important to have a good coach. Lakers never won anything with Kobe and Shaq until Phil Jackson showed up and showed the different personalities to compliment each other. Kerr is a proven champion and Russell is a decent guard, but no he does not have the splash that either of the splash brothers and yes they will struggle.

I think it's going to be interesting to see who gets knocked out - but I think Houston could easily be one of them. Chris Paul not that great any more and knows that the Rockets don't really want him. They just don't have anyone else. Clippers is another that my be pushed out by the Lakers and Utah who really made some strong moves. I am going to enjoy seeing Denver, the Lakers and the Jazz back in the playoffs if that happens. Some one, however has to lose

I have no problem with his language as long as I am allowed to reciprocate, but in the past you indicated that you wanted a kinder and more gentle board, but yes he has threatened people in here which is a federal crime even though no one is actually worried about his puny threats.
