You have arguably, the best long-snapper and holder in the game....Forte was averaging over 5 ypc on that drive???
Has anybody seen the postgame presser yet? I would love to hear the explanation for that.
I just can't get over how fucking dumb that was!?
T-man said , We were in good FG range. And didn't want to chance a penalty, turnover, or lost yardage. Like what happened to Minny earlier. Not an exact quote, but close enough.
Had 100 V bucks riding on that kick. A kick Robbie probably makes 98-99% of the time.
The numbers disagree with you there. It's more like 75% of the time for a kick between 45 and 50.
3 weeks ago I gave him a solid B. He has regressed. solid C. Game time decisions and time management are horrible, just horrible. The last 3 games have shaken my believe in Trestman to the core. We give him the credit for the improved offense, but in reality the improved talent on offense is the real source. As proven by McCown.
Overall A solid B
OFFENSIVE----A+
DEFENSIVE----D
SPECIAL TEAMS----C
I LOVED THE CALL TO KICK IT ON 2ND DOWN
I have tried really hard to not jump on the Trestman hate wagon for this call, trying to let my emotions run cold and analyze it rationally.
But I can't. It was just the wrong call. Trestman, basically, got horny for the win. The Minnesota defense line was tired! It was getting longer into the drive. If nothing else, keep running. Or tell Josh "be very, very careful." But going for a long 40something FG...just reeks of desperate horniness.
Sorry, it just does.

There were just so many other ways to win that game, that it shouldnt have come down to that kick, or the one before. The entire game was difficult to watch, with the exception of Alshon and Forte(at times).
Cali is right, it was riding the ego, and wanting to just take the win too early. Trestman made a bad call, but no guarantee kicking one on third or fourth was going to be good either, particularly if they couldn't move the ball.
Gould is about as dependable as it gets, and he missed it. Thats what happens sometimes, and especially to a team that just isnt that good right now.
I was hoping they would get better as the season goes on, but not likely at this point. I am going to chalk it up to injuries and new everything, and keep my fingers and toes crossed that both coaching and players get better. They need to address the defense desperately, and try and keep the offense together, and compete next season. If they could play spoiler to dallASS, that would make me smile at least.
