What a bizarre game. Can't stop thinking about it. How often is it that you say "our defense sucked last night and they won us the game"?
Exactly. Chalk it up as a weird week in the NFL which happens and move on! Easier to do with the W for sure though.

Hopefully we get a little more creative on D and put our players in the best position to succeed. Leaving Wallace on Jeudy a majority of the game was really dumb.

I’ve seen a lot of people calling for his roster spot but with our depth I’m not sure it’s a good idea. We won’t be facing a JJ every week.

Besides, we had a better option to cover JJ and VJ didn’t make the switch. He’s done great all year with few exceptions, but this one I just don’t understand.

Jeudy played 50 some odd snaps. Covered by Surtain on just over 30 of those plays. (Surprised me too.) He gave up 2 catches for 20ish yards. The remain 20 snaps he went for 210 yards.

Not acceptable. Not by Wallace, and damn sure not by Vance. They should both be fired. Mathis played ok, so did McMillan, and Moss will be back after the bye.

This is crazy. Seems impossible Surtain was on him that many snaps but this actually gives us an even better look at how epic he is.

It felt like every snap was JJ for 20 yards or more.

Pretty epic game overall. Young teams need to win games like this.

Yeah, I read that and was stunned. Makes Vance's decision even more questionable. Hes gone full games on other guys.

Man the thing is Vance Joseph has forgotten more about football than I know. But dang…how does he miss what EVERY SINGLE FAN watching can see?

When he went in motion - Surtain did not follow - that's when Wallace or a safety got burned.

Net points early in the year don’t hold a lot of weight, as one blowout win or loss skews the stats. But now that teams have played 12/13 games, they start being legit to look at. Here are the top 7 in the AFC. Coincidentally none of the other AFC teams have a positive. How close is it to where you would rank the teams?

Buffalo - 131 (10 wins)
Pittsburgh (9 wins) and Chargers (8 wins) - 72
Broncos* - 71 (8 wins)
Baltimore* - 75 (8 wins)
Kansas City - 54 (11 wins)
Texans* - 20 (8 wins)

Net points is always an interesting stat. I think 2016 was the last time the Broncos finished with a positive point differential. What makes last year's 8-9 Broncos somewhat impressive is they finished at -56 and that was with the 70-20 game. Not to shabby when 50 out of the 56 points in the differential comes from one generational-level outlier of a game.

And a year later that defense that gave up 70 points and over 700 yards of offense (if memory serves) is among the top units in the league.

Some of that though is when they ran zone coverages. It wasn't all man coverage that JJ won on. Wallace was bad on the few man coverage routes he did have on JJ but more than anything communication was terrible for our defense in this game. The TD by Chubb you can see Locke trying to tell one of his teammates he is in the wrong spot and needed to get out on coverage but the teammate didn't move.

At that point Both Moss and Jones were out and you could tell the new guys in had no clue what they were supposed to be doing. Same thing happened in the Baltimore game where communication broke down on a regular basis. I almost think more so than Moss missing was Jones being out. Key cannot handle coverage calls. He goes rogue way too often. This is why maybe more so than worrying about CB depth I am worried about our safety depth for this season and beyond.

Starks would be an amazing chess piece to add to this defense. He has shown he can play all over the defense and be a big time play maker. If he somehow falls to wherever we end up picking in the draft I would be about running up to the podium to draft him. He solves some immediate issues and offers a long-term solution that could turn into a star in this league.

Starks is my personal favorite DB in this class. Would be very surprising if he made it to our pick barring a change so we would have to move up for him.

I think he would be a great pick for the Bengals who are REALLY hurting in that back secondary.

Keep an eye on Oklahoma S Billy Bowman for us.

Very good S., I think he fits the mold and we wouldn't have to spend a first rounder on a S (which I am not oppose to) on top of that, Paton has had some good luck recently with Oklahoma.

Billy Bowman, folks! Remember the name.

I believe We have the wrong C starting . Alex is a better run blocker . they say the one we goy starting is better at pass pro .. the games Alex started I never thought that he did any worse but Alex leaves the line up and Williams starts right back at struggling .

I have yet to see anyone but me address it

To maybe get to the SB this year I would make the switch now to see if the Running game would take off like it did the last time Alex was inserted into the line up. Williams impressed me as did all our RB's when he was in there .

Well considering the #1 priority this season is protecting our QB I would say it makes sense to go with the better pass protector. And yes he is much better in that department. Against the Browns I don't think he gave up a single pressure. Right now we have the best pass blocking OL unit in football or at least top-2 depending how you feel about Detroit right now. Part of the reason Bo is having the success he is having is because our OL is dominating. Do you really want to shake that up?

I get that Williams has struggled but I don't think that is just because our Center. He is missing wide open holes. The other two guys don't seem to be struggling to make plays. I can't think the OL blocks one way for the others then shuts down when Williams gets into the game.

take a look at were Williams \them did way better per carry were Alex games started .I also stated he was no different for all our RBs they all did way better and he was just fine at pass pro .
