Seriously. With all the new contacts rules in place due to the "physicality" and now this bullshit... it's obvious he's out gunning for the Seahawks. Let's just play flag football.

Obviously, it's ok for someone to make contact with a woman and only get a 2 game suspension. So backward.

I'm sure the $$$ won't really matter to the Hawks that much. Because Carroll is a physical coach and we are a physical team, Goodell is no doubt out for us. It'll be interesting to see how the refs manage the Seahawks games this year.... i'm just expecting a lot of flags already.

I guess this is the shit you deal with as Champs. Or maybe he's still butthurt that we demolished the Broncos.

Eh you can't be worried about that. Just gotta go out there and play your game and if the Hawks play like they normally do, they should emerge victorious.

Refs can make things a bit more difficult, but rarely do they impact the actual loss/win. Too many circumstances have to be right.

I mean they are bitching because they allowed contact during those sessions and now are taking two away from us... Two sessions they can't do shit in anyway.

That might be the harsher of the two punishments than the fine, but even that probably won't amount to much if the players end up getting together on their own and having a couple of practices anyway.

I don't think Goodell is out to punish the Seahawks. We broke the rules and a $300,000 fine is not much in comparison to what the team may have gained from having those practices.

The defensive contact rules are mostly based on the vision Goodell wants to see for the NFL. Goodell wants to diminish the impact that defensive players have on defending the passing game, the NFL probably believes that there is more money in games that have each team throwing for 400+ yards per game. Casual fans don't seem to have much interest in defensive battles.
