Tell that to John Fox.
Going into a season with the attitude that they are going to suck, will probably result in them sucking.
You've stated yourself, that they have the potential for a top rated defense. They have the potential to be a top rated running game. Their o-line is pretty dang good.
Really, QB and WR are the only real questions, and I think the receiving corps is good enough, particularly with a good D and running game.
That leaves QB.
I see no reason to wait. These kids can handle more than their predecessors. If it were up to me, I'd go all-in on Trubs. I would be actively shopping Glennon, RIGHT NOW.
There are plenty of reasons to rush it. If you believe in Howard, if you believe in Whitehair and Floyd, and the o-line...Hicks and Freeman, etc. Not getting him in there is wasting another year of their careers, because we ALL know what we're going to get from Glennon.
The Packers didn't rush Rodgers, because they had Favre. They didn't need to rush him in there, as they had a good QB. Glennon is steaming dogshit, and everyone knows it.
The average career in the NFL is what, 5 years? Get em' out there while they are still fresh and young.
Sitting him, could do as much harm as throwing him to the wolves for his confidence. We went all-in in the draft. Why stop there?

No one said that... I think they can be solid. However, it is beyond stupid to rush a 22 year old rookie QB's career, over possibly gaining 1-2 more wins early on in his rookie year. Which over the course of what we hope to be a career of around 200 games, means nothing. Less than nothing... Stop
because we ALL know what we're going to get from Glennon.
No, we don't. We have not seen him play yet. We've seen three pre-season quarters. We can go down a laundry list of QB's who looked horrendous in pre-season, and played well in the regular season over the years. Remember how Hoyer didn't even look like a CFL QB in the pre-season last year? This was also against backups, lol. I'm not saying Glennon is good, but Jesus dude... you're trying and reaching SOOO hard.
We also REALLY have not seen Trubisky play yet.
As of right now, before Sunday. Without even seeing Trub take a snap versus a first team defense, and do any kind of a full-field read or progression. Suggesting he should be the starter, is downright juvenile. I'm sorry.
There are plenty of reasons to rush it.
I... I just can't...
The average career in the NFL is what, 5 years? Get em' out there while they are still fresh and young.
For this good starting QB that you are hoping Trub is? 5 years?
I don't actually have to address this, do I?
Sitting him, could do as much harm as throwing him to the wolves for his confidence.
Lol... Just stop for a second, and look at how hard you're trying to justify all of this to yourself.
Sitting him was the plan. The fact that he's even getting reps with the 1's on Sunday, is more than he was ever promised.

Rodgers/Favre is all completely irrelevant. There is anecdotal evidence on both sides of QB's sitting and playing.
Glennon being bad is also irrelevant. He's a place-holder.
If it were up to me, I'd go all-in on Trubs.
Yeah... we know.
Everyone is all in on Trubs. You're just going about it with the absence of any rationale, common sense or foresight. You're reacting like an excited fan should, so I can't blame you. However, it's good we don't get to run the team for this reason.
