Trubisky continues to look good and Glennon continues to show why he's not starter material. And Sanchez is what he is, an inconsistent mediocre QB. I've been saying Trubisky should start before anyone here, now everyone is jumping on the genius's bandwagon and echoing the same thing. Once again the genius leads while the idiots follow.

Kevin White, did he even play? What a bust. Like i said he would be. Stop catering to the idiots and stop drafting WRs in the first round please.

Tarek Cohen continues to impress me. Remember I said this first, Jordan Howard is not that good.

Big improvement from Kyle Fuller. I continue to believe in this guy.

Front 7 of the D played fantastic. Solid formidable bunch.

Like i said before. Roberto Aguayo doesn't have the mental strength to excel in this league

I was looking forward to seeing more Shaheen but I guess he didn't dress up?

Shaheen had 1 catch for 9 yards, on 3 targets.

D continues to look great. Bullard out of practice with a glute injury. Hopefully that doesn't turn into a whole thing, as he's been the top standout of the entire pre-season. IMO

Bears are gonna be better then anyone thinks. Hey I said it first BS Ugene. Also KW will breakout as soon as Glennon gets benched. Howard and Cohen will be fun to watch this year. The D will be top 8 or better. I also predict Shaheen will be able to run a route without falling down by the 4th game.

Please link me to the post where you said it first please.

Kevin White breaking out lol at another idiotic prediction. Another foolish prediction that you will forget you ever said.

Like I said last week. Howard will lose reps to Cohen more and more. Your hedging has already started. Mark my words. Howard is not that good. Not terrible just not that good. In a year you'll be claiming you said this first as well.

Howard is a stud and Cohen a nice change of pace back. Maybe KW will or won't break out but until he has a QB that can throw a decent pass, I won't write him off. The Bears being better then anyone thinks is what I said first, just look 2 posts up for confirmation. Also wanna bet Howard more then doubles Cohens numbers and touches?

Have the day off and I'm watching the game again. If (big if) we can stay healthy, this D really has top 5 potential. People are going to be surprised. Fangio finally has this unit ready to rock.

This is also without McPhee and Trevathan. Who are expected to be ready for the season.

Only idiots continue to make excuses for KW. It's not the qb it's him. Why did cam Meredith excel then?

I said Trubisky should start before anyone here. I said to draft defense with the exception of Trubisky whom I also said is the best qb in the draft. I don't remember u saying a thing about it until I said it. Stop trying to take credit for things I already said.

If u can read I said cohen will take reps away from Howard. Only a fool will think a backup will get more reps than a starter. No one knows howard is not that good yet except for me. I'm usually 2 years ahead of everyone. Remember this post as even u will claim u never liked Howard, a year from now.

Can we win just 4 of these first 9? Brutal... Schedule lightens up after that, but we need to keep our heads above water or it won't matter.

  • Meredith was on the field and KW was not. Just saying that might have been a factor. I have no clue when or if you called it first on Trubs. Don't care either. I wanted him before the draft and was stoked to get him. Also I said Howard would more then double Cohen. And it seems you agree. But then we both knew I was right before you spoke. Why would I claim I never liked Howard? I'm not looking for credit as I already have good credit, cash is where I fall short. 5 kids will do that. Have a super nice day buttwad. I will miss you when your gone but we should test that theory. Go kill yourself and I'll let you know.

Um... I don't want him to start... YET. Here's why: Falcons, Bucs, Steelers, Packers.

As many of you know- I don't have a lot of faith in the Meatball, hamfisted fan base of this franchise. You put a Rookie with 13 college starts in charge of our team against that early schedule- Possibly, without our best Olineman, unknown WR reliability and a Defense that could be without McPhee and Trevathan and an unsettled DB corp. ??

We should WAIT, get through this early schedule and see how players emerge and grow. We've seen 3 quarters of Trubs in non-game planned preseason games...against 2nd and 3rd stringers. Playing the defending NFC champs with a defensive minded HC who most recently lost a SUPERBOWL by meltdown fashion. He's going to be licking his chops and want to kill whoever they play first game.
I SUPER excited to see what Trubisky can be- he looks like the real deal. I can just see this fanbase destroying the kid early and give him a tough time. Let's let them to that to someone who isn't thought to be the face of franchise.
Don't believe me? How different would our first month record be with Glennon vs Trubs in those four games? I'm predicting 1-3 either way. Save the kid and let him be thought of in GOOD light for as long as you can- all the while letting him gain experience without the meatball pressure.
If Glennon sucks- fine, we can turn to Trubs, BUT if Trubs plays poorly against these teams - What do you do? Bench him? Listen the calls of "BUST" no can't do that to this guy.

I have a simple thought. Why is it that everyone and their dog can quickly point out the fact that Trubs has been playing against scrubs, but NO ONE can mention that he is also playing and succeeding WITH scrubs?

IMO, if he can't handle meatball fans, he isn't the real deal. Overcoming adversity might be the biggest notch on a true franchise QB's belt.

Hopefully, they will get him in there soon enough this week to get some reps against the 1's.

I agree that quality is wanted in your franchise QB...but what if he doesn't show that in his rookie year? Do you think fans will be patient with him? And that's my point. I agree that we want and hope that he shows maturity and can handle the pressure- but what if he doesn't- SIMPLY because he's a rookie with limited experience. There is NO way to know if Aaron Rogers would have become the player he is if thrown onto the Cleveland Browns and asked to start day one... or IF David Carr would have fared better on a different team and given a redshirt year. But I believe it would have given him a better chance. Would Tom Brady be TOM BRADY if asked to start for the Jacksonville Jaguars in their expansion first season?

There is NO way any other highly paying job- you would fire/ give up on someone in there first 3-4 weeks... as a teacher I know this to be true. After a year or 2... sure, fine... can them. But

I think the NFL and most good coaches KNOW this. It's the Idiot FANS who don't care.

I mean, those are guys he's been working with since mini-camp. They're on the same page, and in the same spot. They're all young players, coming out of college and adjusting to the game together.

The defensive players have no concept of disguising blitzes, coverages... etc... It's just, not even comparable.

Succeeding with scrub NFL players isn't a feather in his cap. We knew he could do it. He succeeded with guys in college, who weren't even good enough to be that.

IMO, if he can't handle meatball fans, he isn't the real deal. Overcoming adversity might be the biggest notch on a true franchise QB's belt.

This is a silly argument that you'll hear a lot from talking heads, when they really don't have a response to another panelist making a good counter point. They're all human beings, and there's no need to throw UNNECESSARY adversity at somebody. Just for the sake of it.

There is no reason to rush this. We're not winning the Super Bowl this year. lol. We're almost definitely not winning the division either. I can't rule out the playoffs completely, because it's the NFL, after all. However, this isn't a "win or else!" season.

Hopefully, they will get him in there soon enough this week to get some reps against the 1's.

They announced that he will.

Glennon will get the first half with the 1's, and Trub the 2nd. Starters usually play through the 3rd quarter in this week of the pre-season, so we'll definitely get our first look.

With job titles like that, they're undoubtedly smarter football fans than their old man. Am I right, or am I right BS!?

Why do you care so much what fans think dude? As someone who marginalizes the average fan's opinion, you sure spend a lot of time fretting over it.

Would Tom Brady be TOM BRADY if asked to start for the Jacksonville Jaguars in their expansion first season?

Well... it only took Brunell into his 2nd year to get them to the AFC Title game. Jimmy Smith, Tony Boselli, Desmond Howard and a good defense. A future 2x SB champion HC in Coughlin at the controls. There's been worse situations. lol

There is NO way any other highly paying job- you would fire/ give up on someone in there first 3-4 weeks

In my early 20's, in college and shortly there after. I worked in restaurants waiting tables and bartending. I got canned from one five star restaurant after 3 weeks. lol. I was not a good waiter. Could I work in a sports bar? Sure. However, recommending the perfect 300 dollar bottle of wine to some snobby millionaires, to compliment their 80 dollar steak? Wasn't my thing. Hated that work anyway, it was a relief. :pound:

Tell that to John Fox.

Going into a season with the attitude that they are going to suck, will probably result in them sucking.

You've stated yourself, that they have the potential for a top rated defense. They have the potential to be a top rated running game. Their o-line is pretty dang good.

Really, QB and WR are the only real questions, and I think the receiving corps is good enough, particularly with a good D and running game.

That leaves QB.

I see no reason to wait. These kids can handle more than their predecessors. If it were up to me, I'd go all-in on Trubs. I would be actively shopping Glennon, RIGHT NOW.

There are plenty of reasons to rush it. If you believe in Howard, if you believe in Whitehair and Floyd, and the o-line...Hicks and Freeman, etc. Not getting him in there is wasting another year of their careers, because we ALL know what we're going to get from Glennon.

The Packers didn't rush Rodgers, because they had Favre. They didn't need to rush him in there, as they had a good QB. Glennon is steaming dogshit, and everyone knows it.

The average career in the NFL is what, 5 years? Get em' out there while they are still fresh and young.

Sitting him, could do as much harm as throwing him to the wolves for his confidence. We went all-in in the draft. Why stop there?
