You don't need to receive a direct shot to the head in order to sustain a concussion. That's a moot point however, because it looked to me like Salo's head hit the ice pretty hard.

I realize that, however I think the league has taken this head shot stuff to far. Many of the penalties called in todays game were never called 10-15 years ago. If the players were allowed to police themselves players like Marchand & Burrows wouldn't be doing any of this stuff.

Marchand didnt even throw a hipcheck ... he ducked down and led with his shoulder into salos lower body and then cleaned him out ... dont know if this has been mentioned cause I havent read this thread in its entirety (dont think i will either lol)

Marchand's play was super dirty. He drives through Salo's lower body.

THAT IS NOT DEFENDING YOURSELF.

He was trying to, at best, piss off the Canucks and, at worst, hurt another player. He should get a game or two, IMO.

That being said Salo is one of the few Canucks who doesn't make me vomit a little in my own mouth these days; if it had been Lapierre maybe I'd think differently.

My distaste for the Canucks this year has actually come from them whining about every hit (clean ones mind you) when they employ several cheap players themselves.

I have a love/hate thing with the Canucks right now. For all the whining and mouthing off that Bieksa, Burrows and Kesler have done, I love honest hockey players like Salo, Edler, the twins, Hansen, Malhotra, Hodgson etc.

Meh. In my case the windbags are the vocal majority who make me dislike the current Canucks.

I found this vid. Of course this vid has the Boston announcers and yes they are homers.

It compiles most of the nasty play that occurred including a low hip check by Ballard I might add. The slow motion of the first scrum tells the entire story of the Vancouver organization in my mind. 6 players jumping into a scrum at the Vancouver bench on Thornton SIX players. LaPierre the complete fraud and coward he is jumps in while 4 others have Thornton locked up.

Please try and defend this cowardly team. The Vancouver Canucks are a bunch of cowards and a disgrace to hockey.
