I don't buy into this idea that Gase and the coaching staff are coaching to lose. There's really no incentive for Gase to try to lose for the #1 pick since he knows that he won't be the coach next season and won't benefit from the #1 regardless. I don't think any coach or player on the Jets is actively trying to lose the game so that they can get the #1 pick.

I think we're going in circles. I agree with you... which is WHY you keep the worst coach (not saying much) Gregg Williams on the team! He would've called up some defensive scheme to ensure the Rams won it!

Of course they're not trying to lose...they lose them all they're out of a job and it's hard to get rid of that stigma. Add to that the players, every play from every player is on film in the NFL, so if you're dogging it, free lancing or just suck it shows up...so of course they're not tanking on purpose...

If you're 1-15, you're likely out of a job anyway. If you went 0-16 at least you DID your job and secured the best QB prospect since probably Luck? Adam Gase is not a good head coach in the NFL. He sucked at Miami (outside of the first year, where he inherited the team) and as soon as he left they turned it around, and he's done fuck all but ruin Sam Darnold. The players have zero respect for him. He's likely outta there anyway. If he's kept around for a 3rd, it shows just how incompetent that organization is.

A GM can try to tank... But the players that are put on the field are not thinking about tanking... They're thinking about being competitive, playing hard, while auditioning for their next job... Players have too much pride to tank on the field... Didn't anyone watch the movie, "Major League"...
