Nah, not gonna miss this guy at all.
A lot of teams could have really used him too. Guess he really wanted to pitch for the Yankees or go back? I feel like most teams could have used him.
A damn good career and a ton of fun to watch in his best years (2014/16).
Definitely worked out a little better than Hideki Irabu and Kei Igawa. That is for sure.Damn that split of his was devastating. And they knew it was coming and still couldn't lay off.
Seeing that he signed with Rakuten for about $8M, but all the noise here was that he wanted $15M per minimum. Home country discount? LOL
Whatever the case, he was among the best Yankee FA signings of the last 30 years. Worth every penny.
Inexcusable that the Angels couldn’t come up with the cash for him. Unless they end up with Bauer, I have no idea what they are trying to do with their pitching staff.A lot of teams could have really used him too. Agreed. I think the Mets are the only team that seems to WANT Bauer at this point. He’s all about “building his social media presence” or some shit like that. He fancies himself as some sort of media sensation. Most of the world doesn’t find him to be that interesting, though.Read this morning that some MLB team offered him a contract to be their closer. Seeing that he always pitched way better with extra rest, I'm not sure what the logic behind that was.
I think Bauer ends up in Queens. They're the only ones to make an offer to this point, and they traded Matz with no obvious rotation replacement.

He’d have to be a real moron to sign a 1yr deal at this point in his career. His value will never be higher than it is right now. And although I DO think he’s a moron, he’s not that big of a moron.he was going to only sign one year deals
i guess that changes when you get the Cy

Nice!!! I am so glad to hear that. I put out a top 10 stock list on that board 3-4 years ago that included Apple, Amazon, Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, Facebook(can’t recall the rest). Jets mentioned that his Dad bought some Apple so we were loving that one together. Snoogins only wanted to mock me as a know-nothing fraud. I just wanted to make those guys some money. If you search that board for “Nvidia”, I am sure you can get that list(not many posts with that word in them over there...lol). Would love to see it. Everything on that list is up approximately a zillion % from when I posted it. But you can only lead a horse to water.....
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that Joc Pederson has agreed to a contract with the Cubs.
Jeff Passan of ESPN says it's a one-year, $7 million deal and that Pederson is expected to get a chance to play every day. Joel Sherman of the New York Post says there's also a mutual option for 2022. The Cubs have been mostly been subtracting players this offseason, but now they've made a notable addition. Pederson would slide right into the left field spot vacated by Kyle Schwarber, a player he is very similar to offensively. Unlike Schwarber, though, Pederson can play a competent left field. He'll surely fare well against righties in 2021, but it will be interesting to see whether Joc can do any damage versus lefties. Pederson has just a .576 career OPS against southpaws, although the Dodgers rarely let him face them.
He uses analytics in game planning and instruction but doesn’t overemphasize them. Last year, he said he prefers to use them “to make a little nudge.”
