#Mariners need to play .613 ball (+24 at 65-41) the rest of the way to get to 90 Ws. It can be done w/their talent, but lots needs to flip.

That .613 clip is better than every team has played to date except the Cardinals (.661), so that is definitely a challenge.

Here is a guy we should pick up. He was just released by AZ and fits a big need for us. He is cheap and has been their backup catcher, but also has played major infield innings a few years back for Rockies. He beats Sucre all day long plus can play all infield positions and he has even played an inning of LF.

Just because he didn't fill their needs doesn't mean he wouldn't be a better fit for us. A's take other teams rejects all the time and transforms them into useful pieces. Cards do that as well. Vogt is a perfect example of this. Tampa basically gave him away and now A's have made him an All-Star catcher. Donaldson is another guy A's did this with. A bad catcher in Cubs organization and A's turn him into an A.S. 3B. Sometimes it is about styles and fits.
