I saw that and wondered why they feel that turning to him is better than the guy that they optioned to make room for him.

Duggar is on the move again. He's not getting much time with any team this year but the numbers get increasingly worse as his season goes on.

Matt Boyd, who signed with the Giants in March but was traded before finishing his rehab, made his season debut today. He pitched a perfect inning for his hometown team (Mariners) against his former team (Tigers) with Curt Casali as his catcher.

This move is really weird. Essentially, they are letting him go because his K rate has dropped. Do the Rays really have that deep a bullpen?

Wow. WTF?

2.25 ERA AND A 1.00 WHIP

There has to be more to the story.

This is strange. The only real negative I can see is that he's been just about the luckiest pitcher in the majors this year with a +2.00 ERA differential from ERA to FIP (2.25 vs 4.25). Also, the Rays D is excellent.

Gotta be a clubhouse thing. It'll be interesting to see who claims him.

He didn't look good in 7 games with the Cubs but had two nice appearances with Iowa afterward. Its weird to see a 23 year old ride the waiver wires.
He must have a personality issue. It is the only thing that makes any sense. Way too young with with way too much “stuff” to be kicked from 2 orgs within a month of each other.

I mean, his curveball is wicked. If he has control issues, work with him on it. My only guess is that he isn’t coachable.

Which makes me wonder why the Giants jumped him so many levels from 2019 to 2021. Maybe that jump got into his head and he thinks he's all that?

No clue. And saying he is uncoachable was a complete WAG. I haven’t heard anything about it at all. But kicking that curve ball to the curb just doesn’t make sense.

I do wonder if his curveball has flattened out and teams don't think its coming back. I haven't heard anything like that, just taking shots in the dark like you are because the sudden journeyman label on a 23 year old with a great curveball is very odd.
