When does the next Gentlemen Bastards book come out?

He posted a 'I'm still working on stuff." post on reddit a couple of months back. His issues with serious level depression have been discussed a lot online. I sorta' get the impression that books from him going forward are going to be... when they arrive.

I don't reread books often, but I'd reread Lies of Locke Lamora. Fucking loved that book.

Picked up Kings of the Wyld after seeing a couple authors like Rothfuss recommend it on GoodReads. Should be a fun, easy read.

This is the first year I've tried to really "get into" reading. I still am not an avid reader, but I've polished off a handful of books. Usually, it's one or two a year.

I read 4 or 5 books at a time, like a dumass. Then I get things all confused.

Right now I'm into a Robin Hobb series and I'm also reading Frances Fitzgerald's history of Evangelicalism, and I start going, "wait...so WHEN did the Dragons and Elderlings begin to espouse Dispensationalism as a valid doctrine?!?"

You ever read any books on Catholicism? I know you're not Catholic, but obviously there's a lot of history there. I never have but my 75 year old former neighbor reads as many as she can... she's also an ardent Catholic (and Phillies fan).

Just finished the last book of the Cornwell Lords of the North series.

Recently finished the last unread Carl Hiaasen, always a fun read.

In the batters box is the latest Tim Dorsey, another Serge and Coleman saga.

Recently completed all the Ian Rankin Rebus novels as well.

Just finished Lamb by Christopher Moore. one of the funniest books I've ever read. If haven't read it, you should definitely check it out.

Lamb by Christopher Moore.

Looks like I've found another author to read. I like the looks of his covers, they appear whacky like a Hiaasen or a Dorsey.

Time to see if my Library has his stuff.

And they do.... Looks like a lot of them as well.

I'm getting depressed by my reading lately. I'm literally in the middle of all of these series by currently "active" authors. But nothing ever comes out.
#1 The fat man with the TV show. Will probably never finish writing another book.
#2. The bearded one with a soon to be show. Will probably eventually finish Doors of Stone, probably. Eventually.
#3 Sanderson. States it will take him 2 years to write Stoemlight books. Plus he has to take a year off in between to write other stuff to recharge himself. Definitely in the best place of all the writers I follow. But he just started book 4 of a planned 10. That's like 20 years before I find out how that story ends. If he doesn't slow down with age and fame/fortune notoriety and opportunity like others have.
#5 Steven Erikson. Feels bad being mad at him. He put pumped out a malayan novel like every 10 months for years. Then put out books 1&2 of a prequel series. All in the span of time Martin wrote literally 1 book. But then he decided not to finish book #3 and move on to a different series starring a fan favorite. Except the fan favorite won't show up at all in book 1. And either late or not at all in book 2. I'm sure I'll love it when it comes out, but not excited or looking forward to it anymore.
#5 Lynch. My wife cheated on me and I got divorced too. Wah. Write the books damn it. Sorry that was insensitive. But I loved lies of Locke Lamora so much, and he just let that series slowly die.
#6. Esselmont. I love Malazan, but Cam just isn't a very good writer. I do feel bad because he would probably not seem bad. Except he's writing the same characters and the same world as a true genius. And they just don't feel as alive in Cams hands.

I hate reading manuals for my TV, and I love my TV. That's as real (news aside) as I want to get.

What I like is finding a decent series on the ground floor and starting with #1. Like I hope to do now with this Christopher Moore fella.

It gets likes a jones, you don't want to stop. If the next one isn't there (I do library) I get anxious, hoping I don't have to switch to another series.

My little baby brother loves Christopher Moore. Has read all of his stuff. He also loves Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Similar sense of humor I guess. I can only take it in small doses. I've read a couple Moore books, but not enamored with them. I think it's a love it or hate it kind of thing.

If you do like Moore, my brothers absolute favorite book of all time is Rumo by Walter Moers. If it ends up being your style, you can give that a try too.

Lamb is fucking great. I am a big Christopher Moore fan. Just finished Noir, which had a couple laugh out loud moments.
