5/27: Miranda July's festival hit Kajillionaire will now head to theaters on September 18 (rather than in June).

5/27: Blumhouse thriller Run Sweetheart Run will skip theaters and debut on Prime Video this year.

5/26: Edgar Wright's delayed Last Night in Soho has received a new release date: April 23, 2021.

5/26: The upcoming 10th season of American Horror Story will be delayed a full year (to fall 2021) because it was unable to film this spring as planned.

5/22: Jon Stewart's delayed directorial effort Irresistible, a political comedy starring Steve Carell, will now bypass theaters and head straight to VOD on June 26.

5/29: Diary of a Future President (Disney+) renewed for a 10-episode 2nd season.

5/28: Starz will revive the canceled YouTube original Step Up: High Water for a 3rd season.

5/26: Better Things (FX) renewed for a 5th season. The network has also renewed newsmagazine The Weekly for a 2nd season, animated anthology Cake for a 3rd season, and comedy Mr. Inbetween for a 3rd season.

5/26: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FXX) renewed for a 15th season, making it the longest-running live-action comedy series in history (by number of seasons).

5/22: What We Do in the Shadows (FX) renewed for a 3rd season.

5/22: Acclaimed but canceled animated Netflix series Tuca & Bertie has been revived by Adult Swim, which will air a new 10-episode 2nd season in 2021.

5/21: Prodigal Son (Fox) renewed for a 2nd season. @UVA_Guy81

5/21: ABC has finally announced renew/cancel decisions on its remaining bubble shows. Newly canceled shows include Bless This Mess, Emergence, Schooled, and Single Parents. But 13 other shows were renewed (find them in the ABC section below). A final decision on Baker and the Beauty and For Life will come at a later date. The network also announced just one new series pickup for 2021-22: the Kyra Sedgwick sitcom Call Your Mother.
I'm assuming it'll debut in January, which I actually prefer since there shouldn't be any long breaks (if any) between episodes.

I bet networks are wishing they hung onto quite a few shows that were on the bubble last time. They are going to be hurting for content thanks to this plague.

I wished they had cancelled more crap shows. It seems these days if there is not a person of color leading a show it gets cancelled easily but they will continually push other shows which are the opposite despite the poor quality.

Bumped for the sad news:

now excuse me as I go look for bridges to jump off
Nice bump. I can’t believe this thread has been dormant for 5 freakin years.

I never watched McGyver. Neither this one nor the original. Not a fan of all the CBS reboots over the last 6 or 7 years. I tried H5O, but it just got too silly and contrived for my tastes. Lifting a house from its foundation by a helicopter was the shark moment. Magnum and McGyver just seemed more of the same. I gave Magnum 1 episode, but had zero interest in watching ep2.

it’s not a perfect show. But it filled a piece of the burn notice sized hole in my heart (or whatever that thing is that pumps the black sludge through me...)

what sucks is s6 sounded really good, but using s5 as a weaker season to set it up obviously did not work.

still a bit surprised since I thought it was one of the top shows on Friday nights ratings wise.

also, they did a decent job reshooting the show since they got the call after the original ending was shot

It wasn’t dormant. There was another thread.

I merged them.

Its weird. I'm wondering if they, Prodigal Son and Rebel, didn't live up to some high standard ratings or something
Prodigal Son was their current lowest rated drama, so I figured that it was an easy decision since I’m sure they have pilots that they want to get on the air.

Just curious but did Evil ever air it’s second season on CBS All Access or Paramount +? I haven’t heard anything about that show at all.

Going from memory...

it was picked up for a second season, but then the world blew up and it fell into limbo. I believe CBS still owns it, but I haven’t heard anything about whether they plan to continue it or not.

The article listed Magnum PI as a CW show that was cancelled. I bailed on that show mid way through the pilot, but wasn’t that a CBS show? In the H50 “universe”?

I thought so too

Maybe it got picked up there?

I never got around to watching it. Got half way through the first season and never finished. Is it worth searching out at some point or not really?
