"After years of fitful progress, Madden 16 finally puts its gameplay pieces together and delivers a truly dynamic on-the-field experience." - Game Informer

"Madden NFL 15 marks a noticeable improvement for the long-standing franchise. This is a solid game of football, both on a technical and visual level." - Hardcore Gamer

"The common issues with past Madden games still linger, but the pros are beginning to outweigh the cons for the first time in a while." - Playstation Universe on Madden 25

"Madden NFL 13 does something the Madden franchise hasn't done in years: it makes me want to keep playing." - IGN

"One of the best Madden experiences yet, even if the fabled presentation doesn't seem as strong as before. If you've wanted to get into the series before but haven't, now's the time." Play UK on Madden 12

"We know its overpriced to buy the same game over and over again but EA ad revenue runs our business so now is the year to buy the same game we've been giving an 8/10 to every year even though it in no way deserves that rating" - every review of every Madden ever.

Actually it does deserve a good rating because it's a good game. It's not perfect but the gameplay is good, graphics are realistic if not sometimes a little glitchy, and EA actually does update the content of it's main mode(Ultimate Team) daily so it's not like you give EA $60 and then they just stop working.

I understand some of the hate it gets because all games on a yearly release schedule(mostly sports games) are hard to justify spending full price for a game that doesn't change a ton every year but seriously it's not like they can re-invent the wheel every single year and make every game 100% different from the previous version. If you're judging Madden 16 on it's own merits it's pretty damn good.

I do think Madden is a good game. I think their revenue structure is ridiculous and the gaming community turns a blind eye to it like we are in an abusive relationship.

We get promised an improved game every year and we don't get it. "This year will be different"

EAs money went into getting exclusive rights and ad revenue. Monopolies aren't healthy.

I haven't bought a madden in years. 2k5 was the best football game before Madden got a monopoly on the NFL. Then NCAA was the best football game for years until they were shut down from a lawsuit. Leaving madden as the only console football game. What incentive do they have not to be shitty?

FIFA is the best sports game in my opinion. They are the same way as madden, a yearly release at 60. The changes arent huge from year to year but the content is enourmous when compared to madden. Not only that, they have PES making games as well and many consider it to be on par with fifa. A healthy competition breeds the best games for gamers. Madden has been fat and lazy since '06 which I consider the last good madden to have come out.

They won't change just as call of duty won't change because they have people still throwing money at and they do just enough to justify releasing a new game.

Somebody make an easy way to update rosters and that shit would change quickly. Pretty much the only reason to buy the new Maddens.

I think you should play the game before making stupid judgments. I buy Madden every year and the gameplay is actually pretty damn good. If you can actually read none of the previous reviews you posted mentioned anything about the game play so how exactly are the reviews the same?

Exactly people should actually take the time to play this game before making ridiculous assumptions. I was not a fan of the previous Maddens. The last madden I probably enjoyed was 11 or 12. Madden 16 is a really good game

Pretty much every review follows a pattern.

1) Here is the part of the game they actually improved
2) Its still missing game modes and still basically the same game
3) There has never been a better time to get back into Madden

Madden is kinda like if Rare got exclusive rights to First Person Shooters and every FPS after that was an improvement on Goldeneye.

Madden can try new things and new modes.

The past 3 Madden games Ive bought have been interesting to a point and then I realize that Ive already played this game a ton and its fundamentally the same thing.

It depends what you like IMO. I was always a play football type of player. I wasn't into the other modes they really had so the most important thing for me was always the game play and the franchise mode. Haven't tried the franchise mode yet as I just been trying to get the feel of the game. What I can say is now when playing it has a realistic feel to it. The different kind of throws, catches, and now penalties being called more frequently gives it a great feel when playing computer or H2H. Also the offensive line blocks better on running plays against computer. It is a good game. It still rank 4th on my sports game list but is closing the gap on the other 3 for sure

From what I gather, thats probably pretty accurate.

I remember playing sports games all of the time as a kid. When I first saw NFL on the Dreamcast, I thought sports games in the future were going to be fantastic. I think NBA 2k gets it. Sports games for me is about matching up your teams strengths against your opponent's weakness using whatever method you can. Madden has always had money plays or ideal strategies.

I haven't played since 25 but I only played that for about 3 hours before feeling ripped off. Ill wait till this one goes on sale.

Every year IS different, because they remove and re-add features every year to make it seem different. I loved the training camp from 2003, those early 2000's versions of Madden had great soundtracks too. All they do is remove features that fans love then re-add them in a couple years to make it seem like they changed the game up. It's similar to how EA often chops up their games in order to sell pieces of them off as DLC in the future. They are a business-first type of company, consumers come second.

I will say this years madden is better than last years. I'd rate last years madden a 7/10 this years a 7.5-8/10

Review on IGN said that the game is more realistic because teams with good offensive lines like the Vikings and Titans are going to be able to run the ball well while a team with a bad offensive line like the Seahawks will have a hard time running the ball so the experience will be more realistic.

Its actually kinda true, I'm finding it very hard to run behind the Rams crappy o-line, even with someone as good as Gurley...

Rams receivers and TEs are holding them back more than the o-line imo. Although speaking of holding, the LT spot needs to be seriously looked at. But Gurley had some big runs sprung by blocks last year from Barnes and Austin of all people. Rams should be able to run on the right side all day IF they had some sort of passing threat.

Games last year like the 2nd one they played against Arizona were pretty embarrassing, though. Was watching Amazon's All or Nothing that is basically Hard Knocks with Arizona and their whole gameplan was basically 'we can run all day on offense and we can cheat against the run all day on defense and the Rams can't do anything to stop us' which is a bad sign.

The Rams have some AMAZING talents but the depth on that team is just awful and I'd be worried that Jeff Fisher is the wrong guy to bring in a QB talent.

Sidenote: I'm probably going to pick up Madden 16 now for real cheap.

If you have an XboxOne, join EA access, you'll get Madden 16 plus a bunch of other games and it's only $30 a year...

Nope, PS4. I had Red Ring of Death twice on the 360 and I'm borderline 'never again' when it comes to Microsoft.
