I don't think I agree at all, what is the reasoning behind having such big rosters? Seems to me smaller would create more of a challenge in season. "Do I want to hang onto to this rookie who might be good on a couple years, or do I drop him so I can field a full, active team this week?" Having 30+ spots to choose from completely eliminates this.
Interested to hear the why for these big rosters

im ok with 20......but if we have smaller rosters its essentially a modified keeper league

to me dynasty is finding a guy that may be good

20 is a solid number im fine with that

but when we were talking 14, thats not dynasty

I honestly have no preference in a one day draft vs a slow draft here. .but I sure don't want it started before August

I definitely don't want to start before August. Way too many things can happen.

As far the hosting site. .
fantrax would be my first choice as well...but ESPN would do just as nicely. Yahoo blows

Truth.

I am cool with whatever we decide. I know some people want to draft soon while others want to wait til August as it's more towards the year. The reason why I believe it dosent matter when we draft and would rather do it sooner is this. Yes this year matters but in the long run are you really drafting your dynasty team to win it all this year? This is my opinion, I would rather draft young to win in the future. Obviously I am going to try to win and contend this year but from what happens now til August dosent really affect my rankings for a dynasty draft. Just my two cents

Good post; I vote for August only because I am juggling a lot of baseball leagues right now and it's taking up a bit of time. However, if we end up drafting earlier, that's fine.

As to the other stuff, whatever you guys decide for the roster number thing...but I do vote for flex.

I am taking two summer Grad classes that do not end until late June. With working, taking classes and baby #2 on the way I would prefer to wait until one of those things are off my plate. However I can be flexible if need be but I wanted to put this out there. Not to mention that people go down all the time in OTAs.

I am pretty flexible but I thought it be better to do it sooner rather than later as I am sure we all have plenty other drafts we will be having to focus on and it would be nice to have just this draft to focu on early. Even if we wait til end of June.

Ok cool..but what about smaller roster size makes that a problem? You're still trying to find those guys..except now you're not using a shotgun to do it.

When you guys figure out the rules let us know- Fuzzy and Lefty have agreed to co-manage a team. We hope with two MBBRL owners we can overcome our lack of dynasty experience.

I guess to me, smaller rosters makes no need to roster those guys, it just becomes waiver pick ups. No one really needs to evaluate talent for the future with small rosters, it's just playing for the now. Just my opinion

Looks good Foot
Micro what ya think

and i like TKO and Ram i think say 2wr 1 flex works also gves people a choice ps 3Wr is good too

i think once the Roster and Keeper body counts are set we should vote on 3WR or 2 and flex

somehow we need to have a direction im going to pm Micro later tonight and offer up my help

Thanks Foot nice work great helpful post

Just my two cents but with that many guys being drafted I think a flex gives much more 'flexibility'. ....

Interesting. .I find it to be nearly the exact opposite. .makes finding those guys much more critical, both for now and future.

Just my 2 cents but I like the flex spot. As for roster size 20 sounds good. As for draft date, I'd favor mid-July to early August - have quite a few other drafts (most of you probably do as well) that take place from the middle of August through Labor day. No real preference on site.

I just have vacation from august 8-20th... so I would like not to have THIS draft during that window(MBBRL I may be able to BS)...

I don't really think it matters how early we have this draft, it is going to be deeper than most and we will actually want some rookies...

Pretty much agree - I got no problem with a June draft either - - the people affected most by doing it early are the baseballers. .... if they can squeeze it in. Fine by me.

I can see that but if u have your choice between someone who can contribute this year even if only for a bye week fill in or a guy you have hopes for a year or two down the road, with small benches, why roster the future player? I mean let's say a guy like Cody lattimer, may or may not contribute this year, didn't last year, but there's some expectations there. Why would u roster him last year over 100 other guys? Why wouldn't u wait n take ur chances on getting him this year or next? And if u don't u fill with a relevant starter? There's not really a need to "build" with low rosters .... U can just draft starters each year
