It's actually not hard, given all the open cap space around the NBA.

Either trade JJ, #25 with Pierce...renounce Green, Baby Doc to sign him outright....

Or

Trade Blake.

I'd gladly part with Blake for Durant if Kevin is willing.

If they trade Blake, don't the salaries have to match or at least come close? Same with trading JJ, etc.

No.

If a team has open cap, they can absorb the contract and send nothing back.

Ex.....Knicks have max money.....they want a pick, need shooters...

Send them JJ and #25 to eat Paul's deal...

The Knicks don't have to send anything back because they have 30 mil open and those 3 deals only take up under $13 mil.

We did it with Memphis the year we drafted Blake.

Ah, forgot about that. I was thinking about the Lakers attempt to trade for CP3 and Gilbert bitching and crying about how it wasn't fair that they could get CP3 and lower their salary.

Yeah, but it's still not going to happen for us.

We would need to renounce everyone, Crawford, Green, Johnson, Rivers, Aldrich to get to $12 million.

Trade Pierce, #25 and JJ to get another $13 mil...

That's his max contract spot...

But, what about the rest of the roster?

Blake or Jordan would have to go...

I'd rather it be Blake because his deal is up after the Season.

But, what about the rest of the roster?

And that's the kicker. You'd have a starting 5 that would be considered among the best in the league, but very little else and probably a hole at the PF or Center position depending on who you give up between Blake and Jordan.

Lebron's not getting better at this juncture. At some point he won't be the player that he is anymore. I'd rather be in the East because you really have to worry about the Cavs and that's it. In the West if you're Durant, there's the Spurs, Warriors, and Clippers. If the Trailblazers add anyone of significance, then you can factor them in as well.

He doesn't need to get better but the young core is there and he is building Kyrie up to be "the guy". Lebron can be consistently great for another 3-4 years if everything goes right. But yes the West is much more competitive but I don't see any team being a better option than OKC other than Miami possibly(and who will they have if they get KD).

Stays on a one year deal, then he signs the new max there a year later..imo

I am thinking this. Thought before the playoffs he was gone if they lost to the Spurs, but they competed as well as anyone there. Still not making it as far as they were 5 years ago, but they had a really good post-season.

I can always hope, can't I?

Hey stop being greedy! Looks like Your Boys will be winning back-to-back titles, they don't need KD. The Celtics haven't won since '08 & got totally screwed in '10. So the obvious choice is Boston.:hope:
