Nfl record is 492 . With no OBJ and a likely QB transition at some point I think there's a shot he breaks the record for most touches AND most scrimmage yards but let's focus on touches here.

500 would be roughly 32 per games. You guys think he gets there ?

Sounds like a lot. Who had that 492, and when? I can't imagine a modern-day team sending their franchise RB out there that many times...it's asking for an injury

I don't think the Giants will be good enough for him to get near that number. They know they have a special player and they won't ruin him

Just looked it up: James Wilder, Tampa Bay, 1984 season. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Demarco Murray is a bit of an outlier, too...most of the top 30 seasons all time happened in the 80's, 90's, or early part of the 2000's. Teams just don't beat up their backs like that anymore.

Although I saw where the Panthers are expecting McCaffrey to get around 30 touches per game this season. I guess they want to take some pressure off Cam and don't have many options to spread the load around

I was a little surprized to see Edgeron James on that list twice. I guess I just never paid attention to the actual numbers. I was also a little surprized tgat Marshall Faulk isn't up there in numbers.
As for Saquan, just don't see it happening but obviously, the Giants don't have a whole lot else. Could possibly see well above 400 touches though. He had over 350 in a rookie season and looks like he can carry the load. Hope they don't ruin the kid too soon though. I enjoy watching him.

I was gonna guess Larry Johnson. (I would have guessed wrong)

To answer the question. I am gonna say no.
The Giants will be playing from behind a lot which will help from getting Barkley to the 500 #.

Barring Injury I see Eli playing about half the season. Then when they know they have no playoff chance they get the young guy some seasoning.

prediction care of me, rock strongo.

the patriots will lead the NFL in carries this year. they will keep brady to 35 throws or less, and elway him to another superbowl. they loaded up on backs for a reason. 20% of bradys throws were off target last year, most in the league. the pats know this, and will try to hide bradys growing weaknesses with a huge ground game. michel has a huge 2nd year.

He won't last more than 6-7 years getting that many touches a year and with the Giants rebuilding they will be wasting half his career. Ashame

Got the #2 pick in my fantasy league. Its a one player keeper league that you can keep a guy for 3 years if you drafted him after the 3rd round. Gonna have Kamara (keeper) and pair him up with either Saquon or Zeek. Cant wait for football to start.

Saved to my fantasy football file. Don't tell anyone else this until after the season starts...

No...too much invested in this kid to run him in the ground to win 8 games. I do see his touches ramping up whenever they decide to transition to Jones at QB, but as long as Eli is on the field, Tate, Sheppard, Ingram are legit NFL targets.

Not seein it. I wouldn't be surprised to see 400, but not 500. They don't have the defense to control opposing offenses, nor the O-line to allow them to run/dump the ball 30+ times a game.

Yeah, I agree on the Oline. Why run a guy into a brick wall again and again. Teams will be scheming to stop him and stacking the box daring Eli to beat them. Tough division defensively too.

I had the #1 pick in my league last year and paired Saquon up with Gurley as my keeper. Won the regular season crown and lost the playoff championship game by 8 fucking points. They were beasts for me. Thought I was going to have a tough choice on whether to keep Saquon or Gurley, not too much anymore.
