Do you still think Matt Ryan is "elite"?

That's it.

Watching the game last night again reinforced everything I've always thought about Ryan. His stat line usually looks great, but when he has to make the throw in critical situations he often blows it. The Falcons could have had at least 2 more TDs if he'd just thrown it where his receivers could catch it when it counted.
Since entering the league only Stafford has more 4th quarter comebacks than Ryan. I think you're exaggerating quite a bit on that point.

With Cam, yes.

Im not sure what I was thinking putting Flacco in that mix
Ryan has 3 seasons on Cam and has a 6.2% higher career average completion percentage, 9.6 higher career average rating, and 31 more yards per game passing. As far as accuracy and efficiency goes Cam isn't even close. Not to mention the offense does not rely on Cam's arm as much as the Falcons do with Ryan. The comparison is quite a bit of a head-scratcher for me.

Their YPA is almost identical and thats not factoring in that Cam is a huge running threat.

That stat by itself doesn't mean anything without being efficient and he wouldn't need to rely on his athleticism if he was a better passer.

Ok, maybe. I'm sure you've seen him play more that I.

He was never elite. Dude is basically a glorified Andy Dalton. Outside of one season he was statistically identical to Dalton. He has a noodle arm, limited mobility and choked many leads away including the SB. last season was the perfect storm of having a great offensive coordinator combined with a great O line, running game and 2 elite WR's. Now he's come back down to Andy Dalton level as I knew he would. I knew he was garbage coming out of college and honestly I'm surprised he's been as good as Dalton.

He also wouldn't need to rely on his athleticism if he had Tony G, Roddy White, Julio Jones etc.

Cam has 196 TDs in 100 Games. 1.96 TDs a game
Ryan has 252 TDS in 148 Games. 1.7 TDs a game

Stats are weird. They both have 1 MVP, 1 Super Bowl loss and at least 1 year where they didnt look like a franchise QB. I think its a fair comparison even with Ryans accuracy.

Cam had an elite defense the year Carolina went to the Super Bowl. Atlanta has never had anything close to that.

meh, I'd say he's good to very good

Just below elite......but honestly there are only like 3 ELITE QBs in the entire league.

I think there's a tier just below elite - guys like Alex Smith, Philip Rivers, etc are in that arena
