That would be a rare find, good luck. Probably in a barn somewhere.

....love those old cars ,...they were so easy to fix, change tires, etc,......and the junkyard was right up the road if you needed tires, batteries, starters, etc...!

Navy blue 1987 Mustang LX 4 cylinder hatchback.

Looked good, was slow. I painted it all black and got black rims for it. Sold it and moved up to a 5.0 soon after.

Feel like I've already responded to this thread, but don't see any posts from me in it...? Oh well:

1970 Dodge Dart, dark blue, with a mis-matched light blue driver's door and front fender due to a previous wreck. White vinyl top, which I had to scrub every week or it would mildew up like a mofo. I was 16, paid $300 cash for it.

Broke the transmission in about 3 months, had to pay 500$ to have it repaired. Really loved that car by this time so I paid to have it fixed rather than go buy another POS.

Completely re-did the interior myself, and was getting ready to have it repainted when my dad said we couldn't get the Title for it and had to sell it. I believed him at the time, but years later I started to suspect that that was complete horse excrement. I think he sold it for about 1,000, bought me a 200$ beater off one of his car dealer friends (complete with authentic Title!), and pocketed the rest.

Yeah they are very rare in the 2-door pillared style. You can find them but the problem is finding a complete car. I've found several "partial" cars but have yet to find a complete car that is not a rust bucket.

I still can't believe they put a 4-banger in a car and called it a Mustang ! I have a 2007 Mustang GT500 with 115,000 miles on it. Still runs like a bat out of hell but it is starting to show wear and tear. The electric seat doesn't work anymore and the door panels are starting to come apart.

Ya, I didn't know any better at 16. Found out real quick trying to race a 5.0 then pass a school bus and almost dying. I passed on a Daytona w turbo for that stupid thing too.

I wish I still had my first car.
And second car.
Me too.

Both Corsicas. Hahaha. One dark blue, one almost Honalulu Blue. Both blown engines thanks to an idiot teenager driving them. (Saved for years to buy that first one a few months before I was 16.)

Still have my third car, a Beretta that got over 300k before the odometer quit. Someday she'll run again, someday.

My first car was a 1964 Mercury Comet 2 door. 289 with a 4 speed Top Loader transmission. I lent it to my brother one day and he wrecked it on the freeway..

First car was technically a 1989 Chevy Celebrity station wagon. It was my mom's car that I learned to drive on. About a month after I turned 16 they bought her a new car and gave that to me. 3rd day driving it, me and two other guys were the only sophomores on our JR football team with a license. So we had to get everybody from the little team get togethers we had to the high school to watch the varsity team play. I didn't want to make a 3rd trip, so we managed to get 13 guys at an average of around 200 pounds all into that car at once. 2 mile long straight road, no hills, floored the whole way, managed to hit 35 mph by the end. That night somebody hit it in the parking lot hard enough to break the front axle. Parents said; "too bad."

Saved up $500 in a couple weeks of working and bough an 83 jeep cj7. Literally the second time I drove that thing the front wheel just fell off while I was going around a corner on a back road headed to school. Walked 2 miles to school with a nice concussion after rolling that thing, apparently had blood just dripping everywhere, but I don't even remember getting out of the Jeep.

Saved up $2500 before I even started looking again after that. Everything that looked decent was between 4k and up to 5k. Crossed my fingers and asked my parents if they would match me. I was really looking forward to having a cool car. A 5.0 mustang or a Camaro, or maybe even a TA or something. My parents surprised me by agreeing. Kind of. Dad told me if I came up with another $500 for $3,006 total they would buy me a brand new car. So I was even more excited. Then my dad took me to the dealerships. "This family buys American cars." That was my first bad news. "You're only spending $3k, you should be happy with any car. Because we're only getting the base model of the cheapest car they sell." I was much less excited. My 3 choices were a Dodge Neon, Chevy Cavalier, and Ford Escort. At 6'1 225 I literally did not fit inside the Neon I tried, couldn't even take it for a test drive. I shoehorned myself into the Cavalier, but I could have scratched my nose with my knees. The escort looked the smallest from the outside, but it allowed me to put my drivers seat all the way back into the rear seats so I could at least drive it comfortably.

So the first car that I made it through a week with was my escort. All 88 hp of it.

Seems a lot got wrecked like mine did.

My first truck that I bought was an 84 Dodge Ram 4x4. Thing had nearly 500,000 miles on it and it was worn out. It still ran, but it was about to fall apart. I bought it for 500 bucks, I sold it for 500 bucks,

The first truck that I actually drove was a beautiful beast of an 87 Dodge Ram, 4x4, cherry red, 6 inch lift, 440 big block, 4 speed manual with a granny low.

Loved the truck, and I'd buy it back in a heartbeat if I knew where it was. 8 MPGs just really wasn't practical for me in high school when gas was over 4 bucks a gallon, so I sold it. Actually made a little money on it. Bought it for 12,000, sold it for 13,500.

It took 6 months of intense therapy just to continue with life 35 years ago.

It was the families car, handed down to me, fold down rear was great for MANY reasons :dhd:... As far as I know it was sold off to a dealer for $1,000

1974 Mercury Capri V6.

Traded it in on a Volvo 245 DL wagon.

I still dream about it occasionally. In my dreams I find it in a body shop and and can never quite get them to finish the job. I go back and it isn't there where it had been sitting, and then I find it in a corner not being worked on, etc.

Like one of those endless hallways from a horror movie. Can't quite get to it....
