I gave an example in response to someone's false dichtomy to show that other examples were available.

And yes, Colorado St and Fresno St were better than Mizzou. Go look at some fucking rankings dipshit.
Bama doesn't play home & aways with those teams and how many P5 teams are in the same conference as Colorado St. and Fresno St.? It's not like those teams run a gauntlet every year.

Total bullshit, the first black players on the team happened years before that.

We just had this discussion where I proved all this shit literally days ago. You stupid fucks can't even retain shit for a week at a time.

LOL. Hey black guys please don't show up for the official team photo. Do the words fully integrate mean anything to you? Having some guy on the roster but never playing them isn't fully integrated. If you cant tell the difference between these two teams then you're blind as well as stupid. USC had a black QB and a black assistant coach.

Maybe we should stop the beauty contest and just have a system where if you win you keep playing.

Errrr......isn't that called the playoffs?.....:noidea:

I've seen your rankings.
Oddly enough, so have I. And, I can do simple math. For example ...

If x is the average of a set numbers which includes B, and A > B, then replacing B with A in the set of numbers will increase the value of X.

Ahh except they were bowl eligible with their schedule
They went 7-6 and they were one of two teams to become bowl eligible by only beating sub .500 teams.

I’d be all for it. Every three years the lowest team gets booted for the top team in their paired mid major. Big Ten - MAC
Let's do it.

Oh wait. My guys would never get invited anyway.

Screw it then.

Part of the problem is that no two seasons look alike. So the criteria are going to change year to year depending on what is needed to distinguish between similarly rated teams.

The bottom line is always the same: a) schedule some games that will make you look good as you meet the challenges of winning them, and 2) win all of your games.

Not sure I agree. You don’t need to use different criteria for every season. Say it was as simple as using the Colley Matrix (picked because it’s the only one I know that publishes its formula). That works and let’s Universities know how they are judged

2 years before that USC game Alabama had multiple black players on the football team.

They didn't have any on scholarship that were starters....Because the ones we offered didn't want to be the first black players and all that shit and went to other schools instead.

But USC is never gonna let go of that feel good story. They actually believe they caused Alabama to start playing black football players because of a single game. Kind of funny when you think about it.

Yeah. Only everyone involved said it was so. It's only in books written by people from both schools. But hey you know more. LOL

From SEC country web site. I guess they are biased too. LOL

Cunningham became the unlikely star of an all-black backfield against all-white Alabama that night in Birmingham when he rumbled for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries in a 42-21 rout of the Crimson Tide. So stunning was that result, it has long been credited with hastening the full integration of Southeastern Conference football.

The next season, Alabama introduced its first black player, John Mitchell, who went on to become the school’s first black assistant coach and later the SEC’s first black coordinator.
Gov. George Wallace infamously vowed “segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever” in his inaugural address in 1963, then stood at the entrance of the University of Alabama later that year to block the enrollment of black students. So what is the path to progress in a climate like that? Threaten the future of a beloved football dynasty.

Bryant flew to L.A. to ask Trojans coach John McKay if he’d bring his fully integrated team to Legion Field, likely knowing full well what would happen.

“He had to show the powers that be that black and white players could play together and play at a high level together,” Cunningham said. “His belief as a football coach was to have the best talent so he could have the best team, and he knew he needed African-American players to be part of that in order to keep moving forward.”

The SEC has the mid majors at home ... not home & away like a conference game. I don't know of any mid major programss that have the arsenal of a P5 team ... as in TV revenue for new facilities, stadium upgrades, etc ... for recruiting purposes. There's only a handful of mid majors that have been consistently decent ... Boise St. being one of them.
We've been able to get OU ('12), Texas ('09) and Texas Tech ('12) to come to El Paso. Usually a two for one but they are still willing to do it. Can't say the same for the other biggies in Texas and Oklahoma.

And? You stated Missouri wasn’t going bowling with their schedule when infact they did. I was arguing Fresno State wasn’t winning 10 games with Missouri schedule. Which was rated higher than Fresno’s.

Except that that doesn't work. To understand why, you have to understand how computer rating function.

A computer rating system is going to use some criterion (usually game scores) to determine how much better the winning team is than the losing team, and then apply that uniformly across the dataset of games played. But the choice of how the formula is constructed is entirely arbitrary. It can reward a team for high offensive output, great defense, etc. So how can you use that formula to fairly rate a team that is excellent due to defense as compared to one that excels because of offense?

The point is that every team is different in terms of what makes them good and where their weaknesses lie. And as such, every season is going to be different.

Hell no, nor did I ever argue that. I merely stated Fresno isn’t winning 10 games with Missouri’s schedule.
