Ya know, over the past 12 games, Murphy has hit about .350. So maybe, just MAYBE, he's going to really come around in the second half. But Moreland continues to struggle, EA the same, and the team all the way around just struggles with RISP! Someone mentioned the Berkman signing earlier, and honestly, I didn't get this when we did it! His legs, were gone several years ago and we committed a log of money to him! Now we're stuck with his ailing ass, and really no one to help out!

People on the rays used to call him Ballfour before. But yeah something fishy is going on there. A team that has been mediocre for 5-7 years doesn't all of a sudden just doesn't become unstoppable all of a sudden.

It would be hard to believe that these guys are not getting coaching help. JD today said we may have to fix hitting problems with the guys we have. Mitch has hit well as has Elvis. Most likely their approach will be adjusted a little and things should improve.

Just a lack of discipline in my opinion. Andrus swinging at first pitches, beating the ball into the dirt, not driving the ball like he's capable of doing. Murphy swinging at bad pitches because he's getting fooled, and also swinging early in the count. Mitch, I think his timing is just off, he's missing cheese fb's he'd normally murder. He's got a very low contact rate for pitches inside and outside the zone since coming off the DL. All things that can be corrected, and need to be corrected.
