Gonzales currently has a 1.16 ERA over 38.2 IP throughout this season.

Jung, who began swinging an under weight bat 10 days ago, graduated to taking batting practice swings this weekend. The Rangers are expected to meet about setting a schedule for Jung on Sunday.

It would mark an adjustment in the plan. After Jung’s surgery was more complicated than expected, his return time was adjusted towards 12 weeks. It appeared that he would not get the go-ahead to start swinging a fully weighted bat until a 10-week follow up scan, but he has made significant progress since he started swing the lighter bat.

“The swing is starting to feel normal,” Jung said Saturday after his round of batting practice. “It’s not fully there, but it’s on the way.”

Howard’s got nothing. Both Garcia and Lowe should have put it in the seats. Duran’s fly didn’t make it to the warning track, which also should have been hit out. They are getting fat pitches. No wonder this team has trouble scoring more than 4 runs a game.

I have always said, 'anyone is tradable.' But the cost can always be an obstacle. He's terrific, but I don't know the asking price, nor do I know what our commitment is to Lowe.

Eventually how it normally works is you can't fire the whole team but you can fire the hitting coach. Hyers has had some success in the past but this is ridiculous. Somebody has to be the fall guy.
