I am assuming it was when he and Kunitz collided knee to knee.

/just read the story on penguins.com, they say precaution and he did see his neurologist and tests were fine.

here we go again lol

I'm guessing it's the knee, not the head.

Although they did mention he took an IMPACT test, which is the concussion diagnostic test. *sigh* I hope this doesn't become a thing.

Also, this could simply be them being overcautious about it. A likely explanation would be that Sid got a headache, took the IMPACT, got a normal score (what's been reported is that infact), but they're sitting him to watch symptoms and give his knee a rest. My thing though: they freaking let Letang come back in a game after receiving a headshot, then suddenly he's concussed? Learn your lesson Pens staff, and nut up when guys are fighting you to get back into a game. Gah.

I personally didn't think the Kunitz hit was intentional, but I'm sure some of you will argue the other way.

knowing the importance of Crosby to the NHL I believe Shanaban has called meeting with Kunitz to talk about suspension :)

Crosby= Lindross with a ring!

So true. One more huge hit probably ends his career. That couldn't be more evident. It doesn't seem like the question is if it will happen, but more like when it will happen. It's not as if any teams are going to let up on him physically either when he's averaging one and a half points per game.

Resting up a couple before the 13th eh? I'd play on a strecther against a team I just lit up for 4 points. Wouldn't you want to stick it to Jagr's team? Didn't some other doosh sign with them too?

Anywho....It's Red Kettle season...Kronwall's gonna be ringing some bells...

Well that sucks. Big part of the schedule coming up for the next couple of games and he's out, again. I hope this is only a minor setback for him.

I remember the days at the swamp when I was embroiled in a circular argument with the puppy. I said this was Crosby's future. He had the pressure of the whole world heaped on his back and was trying too hard to live up to it, and it would eventually be his downfall by trying to play too hard and do too much and leave himself vulnerable. The he'd come back too fast to appease the powers that be. This is exactly what destroyed Lindros.

Seems to have taken another one. I hope not, but how can you think anything else at this point?

The guy has had one concussion, albeit a rather potent one. Taking a few games off every once in awhile to preserve his future isn't the sign of the end of his career. I think a lot of people will likely read into this far too much...when the reality of it is he took a knee to knee.

ALSO, on the IMPACT test: with a guy who had such a severe concussion it's not out of the question that he takes that test regularly, and it's irrelevant to his current injury.

Lindros got six more years after his first.

Although his decline was rather sharp after the second.

I'm not saying it's the end of the line for Sid. I am saying those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. He came back after the classic and it's already cost him a year.
