Lindros got six more years after his first.

Although his decline was rather sharp after the second.

I'm not saying it's the end of the line for Sid. I am saying those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. He came back after the classic and it's already cost him a year.

Trust me, I have no clue how the Pens training staff/MD didn't take a beating after that miss. The fact that he even finished the game after his second hit in the TB game is damning.

I agree they should have pulled him.

I think this time it is precautionary but it is never good after any major hit, albeit an accident he has to sit out a few games.

Outside the more knowledge the only other thing going for him is that Scott Stevens doesn't play anymore, too bad for Lindros.

Anyone else a bit mislead by the wording of the thread title into thinking he was suspended?

I can't decide if it's that they don't want to risk his injury/play the Flyers or if they are blatantly lying and he'll be in the roster tomorrow. It just seems weird that they are pulling him for two games. Don't they always just call folks day-to-day in the NHL specifically to force other teams to act like they might be in the lineup? I don't get why they wouldn't do that here. Especially since the Flyers know he always plays well against us.

Jesus Christ, he's not scared of the fucking Flyers. If anything I think the fact that it was specific leads me to be optimistic. I don't think they would risk a debacle like last year - "He'll be out a week" - so this seems extremely precautionary. And why not? It's two fucking games in December. Wait and see if anything lingers rather than throw him into the fire for two relatively meaningless games.

I hate reading these threads. I don't know why I came into this one. You can tell that a lot of rival fans are giddily hoping that he doesn't play another game as they enthusiastically discuss the possibility of the end of his career.

The scary thing is the Pens are a top-flight team with or without Sid in the lineup. Obviously, they would prefer to have him in the lineup, but hopefully they (Pens training staff) have learned their lesson about rushing a guy back into action.

They will still be without the services of Michalek, Letang, Engelland and Lovejoy. That is four of their 7 starting blueliners from the opening day roster. They're also without Richard Park.

Michalek and Letang make up a huge part of the Penguins special teams and five on five play. Engelland and Park have also made nice additions to the team, this year. They're pretty beat up throughout the roster, right now. Missing Sid just adds to the woes.

I am sure they did. Its not like they recently allowed a player who took a big hit to the head go out and finish the game and now the player has missed almost two weeks with a concussion. They have a top notch staff.

i dont think anyone is giddily hoping he doesn't play another game.. at least i dont.. i think he's a bitch and i'm calling him a wuss because i hate him.. i dont want the guy's life to be all messed up though.. plus when he's in the lineup i hate the pens even more, so even though i hate him and all the problems he causes the flyers, i want him to play so that i can hate the team more.
