Crosby out 2 games for hit in Boston Game

Of course he isn't scared of us. For all the good natured/terribly jealous trash talk we throw at him, he's a solid hockey player, not one of those MLB guys who sleeps on their arm funny and misses a month. And about me hoping he doesn't play ever again? Fuck that. He's bad for my team but great for the sport and hockey is better for having him in it. But let's make this quite clear. He got a concussion test for a KNEE TO KNEE HIT. If he's so delicate at this point that that sort of thing gives him a concussion he should never see an NHL rink again, because he'll get himself killed. I understand precautions and playing it safe. At the same time, I can't figure out why a guy would miss two games for a knee hit for anything other than a knee injury.

This is kind of what I'm saying. You talk to talk, but when it comes down to it, you are still calling him a pussy and questioning him. And let's be real here - you don't actually think he's going to die; you don't want him to play again because you don't like him. I appreciate what you said previously, but you really don't want him to play.

I don't wish him ill health and hope he lives a long, happy life. I don't wish for guys to TRY to hit him and injure him. I don't keep voodoo dolls of him that I stick with pins or yell at the TV for someone to head shot him. But he's on a rival team. I hate the guy, even if I respect his abilities. I hope this dogs him for the rest of his hockey career and he leaves the game early. Sorry, just how I feel. To me, that's being a fan.

Yeah, I think that's wrong. It's fucking ridiculous. Never would I hope that of a guy who has an injury. Fucking never. Not only is it more satisfying to beat teams when they have their best players in the lineup (I think dash said this as well), but it's a shitty way to think. Do I feel bad OV is slumping? No. But it's a slump and not an injury. And I hope (/know) he will be back to form soon. I hate the fucking Flyers. So much. No I don't hope Giroux, Pronger, or whoever gets injured or sustains injuries so they don't play my team. I dislike the Caps. No, I don't hope that OV, Backstrom, or whoever gets injured or sustains injuries.

This board is too forgiving. Everyone is all PC, so they won't call you out on it. But yes, hoping anyone, let alone a talent like Crosby, is dogged with injuries for the rest of his career and leaves the game early, is fucking horrible.

I did the AIDS ride years ago, I donate blood on the regular, and I've worked in civil rights and nonprofits doing things I believe in at the expense of making more money. I'm also made plenty of mistakes in life. My opinions, on sports of all things, don't define who I am as a person. And you don't fucking know me.

I hope he has great health, wakes up every morning with his millions of dollars, kisses his gold medal, and bangs out his sure-to-be-smoking-hot wife while staring at a photo of him holding the Cup. He's earned it, he worked hard. There's a big difference between healthy enough for life and healthy enough to be a pro athlete. So if I had to choose between watching Sid play for years to come and my team winning a Cup, I'll take the latter. That's all I was saying. Many disagreed with that, but they understood the logic.
