I like this signing. Having added depth with experience is a win/win situation. Plus it keeps the rotation fresh on passing downs.

You think they'll use their first pick on a OT? A lot of folks feel the first tier tackles will be off the board, leaving Ifedi and Spriggs as one of the next best. Watching Ifedi play during games, I was surprised to find out that he's better at pass blocking, then run blocking. Big guy like that, you figure he should be good at run blocking, but he doesn't seem to have a lot power when he hits defenders.

Maybe with a little luck one of those top tier OL guys could fall with teams needing so much more then just o-line help. Also Seattle could trade up if they really like a guy their looking at.

Yeah. I saw that on Facebook when the news broke. Kind of sudden, but it can't be considered totally unexpected. I believe he would have been one of the oldest, if not the oldest, guys on the roster and unless there's an issue with his health or his family, I have to believe that after being out there with the guys for minicamp, he just didn't think he'd be able to compete for a spot with guys a decade younger than him and didn't want to waste his or the team's time trying.

Regardless of the reason, I hope he at least sticks around for training camp in a coaching/mentoring role for the defensive linemen and linebackers. His experience, even if it doesn't come in a playing capacity, can be very good for this group. At least he's retiring a Seahawk.

I too am happy he retired a Hawk. He gave it his all when he stepped onto the field and it would be cool if he stuck around as a mentor.

Yeah, it is cool he retired a Seahawk ... This organization has come a long way when you see players so happy to come back here, even if it means just to retire... Seahawks pride!
