Given what day it is, it'd be easy to dismiss this story as a prank, but the Hawks have been talking with Chris Clemons this offseason, so I'm inclined to believe it. What do you guys think?

Seattle Seahawks Agree To Terms With Defensive End Chris Clemons

This is a team that is all about depth, and thats what this move says to me. I can't imagine that PC&JS expect the Clem from years past to walk through the door, nor do I feel that he will be compensated as such either. We don't have much in cap space so this will be a minimum deal financially, and I see a limited amount of snaps once the season starts. He will be rotated to keep fresh and I think he can make impact. I like it!

I haven't seen any contract details yet, but I can't imagine that they signed him for much. He's in his mid-30's and I don't even know if he'll be an every down player or not. I guess we'll find out.

I'd be ok w/ this if he was just going to be a rotational player used for depth more than anything...

Of course he's going to be depth, he's certainly not going to be replacing Bennett or Avril. The real question is the contract and how much is guaranteed.

Welcome back Clemons, it will be nice to see you in a Hawks Uni again to finish out your career.

This move is all about depth and leadership. Clemons is not a bad player all though he is not the player he was when he left he should do fine in a limited back-up role. This will allow the hawks to slide Bennett inside on 3rd downs like they have been doing. Is he a better pass rusher than Irvin? i doubt it at this time in his career but it adds options. Also i am pretty sure he came pretty cheap, his numbers were pretty bad last year as a whole but he had 8 sacks in 2014. I think in a part time role he can get us 5 sacks and remember he is pretty damn good against the run.

Very little downside to this if you ask me. Of course he isn't going to be anything more than a role player, but if he plays well when he gets his 10-12 snaps a game then that's a win.

Wouldn't mind seeing Schofield be the next guy to return.

I like it... His best day's are behind him but he can still be a good situational pass rusher... Bring him in on 3rd downs and let him go after it... Welcome back Clem!

Dont know how much he'll see the field, even on 3rd down, if Clark has as big of a role as is anticipated.

As a depth signing, this could be an indication that the Hawks are thinking OL early in the draft...

If the Hawks don't draft 3=4 OL in this draft, I will eat one of my hats.

You think they'll use their first pick on a OT? A lot of folks feel the first tier tackles will be off the board, leaving Ifedi and Spriggs as one of the next best. Watching Ifedi play during games, I was surprised to find out that he's better at pass blocking, then run blocking. Big guy like that, you figure he should be good at run blocking, but he doesn't seem to have a lot power when he hits defenders.

I would not be surprised if he doesn't make the 53 man roster, but as long as his services come at a relatively cheap price I don't have an issue with this signing.

Eh he's depth/rotation that's all. I wouldn't be surprised if you see Seattle go back to the 3rd down set they used in 2014. Avril, Bennett, Hill, Clemons on passing downs. Hill is a better pass rusher than run stuffer and Rubin has zero value rushing the QB.
