Yeah, I think the annual out of pocket max over there for everything other than prescription drugs was something like $30.
We gotta pay for, like, crutches and things like that.

Physiotherapy also isn’t covered and can add up if you don’t have a work plan.

When I had knee surgery, I paid one third of it which got me to my yearly out of pocket maximum and my insurance didn't cover any PT, so I had to pay 75 per session.

I was supposed to have 2 sessions a week for 2 months. I went to two sessions, took notes on the exercises I was supposed to do and did the rest at home.

2 years after the surgery, I still have to have cortisone shots every 6 months. And I have *good* insurance.

I would still trade with ya.

Well, yeah I personally and most people with full time jobs have a benefits plan that covers at least some PT so it’s not that big a deal but it isn’t covered by the province. Trudeau was planning on introducing universal pharmacare & dental at some point but with that whole $300 billion deficit thing I’m not sure that’s still realistic.

iirc about 75% of canadians have extended health care through their employment. I personally have never worked for an employer who didnt offer it :noidea:

when i had horrible back problems 4 years ago, i had a fairly basic extended health plan paid by my employer. It was family coverage (2 adults & 2 kids) and cost my employer $150 a month in premiums. My deductible was $25 and it was 80% coverage. It offered $500 in other practitioner coverage ... $500 PER practitioner type per year ... so i was able to run the gauntlet trying everything i could to get better ... $500 for chiro, $500 for acupuncture, $500 for physio and $500 for massage therapy (from an rmt not a rub n tugger). I got better. Cost me $400 out of pocket for a multitude of practitioner visits.

my brothers wife just gave birth at 34 weeks this week in LA. Baby will be in hospital for at least 2 weeks. He has insurance through his employer but that out of pocket is gonna be ugly. Especially when the hospital is charging out $60 for stuff like “providing” skin to skin contact with the baby :gaah:

Oh and by the way ... that was $500 per practitioner per year per person in my family. My wife always makes sure she gets her 3rd visit with an rmt at spa utopia before dec 31 lol

I couldnt find the clip that i saw on global of the incredulous look on Mays face when a reporter asks her whether people should be worried about their grandchildrens future and she says “look ... we’re in a pandemic” lol so her opening words from her presser today will have to do lol

That also ignores the fact that the other 20,000,000 not tested would magically all be healthy.

I'm okay with keeping the border closed to non-essential travel for the next 12-18 months.

And that 40m is still only slightly more than 10% of the population. AND there are probably a large number of repeated tests in there. Each individual near Trump has probably had 50+ tests themselves.

Even so, I believe Lindy Ruff is a great coach more than I believe the USA has really done 40m tests.

i had read that nashville was gonna get the axe from the tourney regardless of how their case counts turned because the mls needed to get down to 24 teams to make the tournament work and because nashville is new to the league lol

there was a shortage of tp because mls bought it all to write their season rulebook

British Columbia has recorded 20 new COVID-19 cases in a day for the first time since June 3.

:thumb:

However, there were no new deaths associated with the coronavirus on Thursday, said provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

The province’s case total now stands at 3,028, nine of which are epi-linked.

More than 88 per cent of those patients have fully recovered, while 175 cases remain active.

Seventeen of those cases are in hospital, four of them in critical care.

There were no new health-care outbreaks or community outbreaks.

However, the province continues to monitor several potential exposures in Vancouver, including the No5 Orange strip club and Belmont Hotel.
