I was bored this morning so I took a quick peek at the other board - Would it surprise anyone that the guy who had a major meltdown about four years ago on this board is an anti-vaxxer?
Which one? I feel like that could describe several different people. And not just all of the alts that a couple of them had just to yell at clouds.

That's not fair. The Gorton's FIsherman did not have a break down and parted ways with us peacefully. Fair thee well, old friend. A crispier fish stick we will never know.

I remember when we were going out at 7 pm each night to salute our frontline workers. Today, we're protesting outside hospitals and verbally (and in isolated cases physically) assaulting healthcare workers. God is not pleased.

Seriously speechless because there was ONE simple thing that could have prevented all of this.

It'll all work out in the end. She will be reunited with her son soon enough.

I say give the protesters what they want. Stop admitting and treating unvaccinated COVID patients.

I'm more concerned about these protestors preventing ambulances from getting into and out of hospitals where every minute (and sometimes seconds) count.

Just saying, if no COVID patients were in that hospital, there wouldn't be any protesters blocking things.

And don't get me wrong, I have nothing against peaceful protests, but when you're abusing health care workers and preventing people from getting the medical attention they need, that's going way over the line.

also, why the fuck does every protest movement think blocking traffic will be the masses on your side.

"Gee, I'm seething with rage because I'm stuck in rush hour traffic for an extra two hours, so I'll miss my dinner and won't be able spend time with my family - but you know what??? maybe doing everything we can to protect the population and end a pandemic IS a mistake!"
"Goddamnit, I see now how being stuck in traffic is an inconvenience. how dare THESE people also be inconvenienced"

and to mix things up:
"Climate change is a real issue. Having thousands of cars idling in traffic for hours while you do a fucking drum circle on a bridge has really driven home that point. Maybe I'll look at transit. Nope, busses are stuck in traffic too."

the govt can only do so much about anti society disrupters.
govt intervention worked with regards to proof of vaccination ... started with quebec, then bc, now ontario ... those announcements by the govt about the upcoming requirements made first dose intake increase ... it was on a slow and steady decline until aug 12 when it was announced for quebec ... up to 35K first shots per day in canada now(rolling 7 day average)

The proviso is this decision to finally vaccinate is probably coming from the group of people labelled simply "hesitant" than the hard core anti vax idiots who are incorrigible. We're going to run out of the hesitant soon.

Anyhoo it was trending towards the impossible to get to 85% of the cdn population 12+ vaccinated at least once but it now looks like Canada will get there next week.

/BC ... still jaw dropping to think 700K eligible people havent gotten 1 dose yet
