Me and the missus have our appointments next Thursday to get our first vaccine dose :thumb:
First shot made me tired and tad woozy in my tummy for a day or two (Pfizer)

Second one punched me in the stomach, hit me in the arm with a wrench, and sapped all my energy.

HAVE FUN!

Man, you’re the guy in charge. If you need to take vaccines from places where the spread is basically non-existent to give more to places where ICU’s are overflowing with patients just fucking do it. Why the fuck does it matter if provinces “are interested”?!

ontario - no thanks, we good

Not sure how they can make the comment “We do not have a capacity issue, we have a supply issue," when 25% of the vaccines given to them are sitting in a freezer somewhere :noidea:

I don't understand that either. Alberta pulls the same shit. It's all just passing the buck. Political hot potato.

I'd like us to have more supply no doubt but some provinces can't use those they're given. Maybe start giving more to those that can get them into arms? :noidea:

And in the same breath ontario is asking other provinces to send nurses ?????

This is not a supply issue when as in bc theyre telling people that there will be a 4 month break between shot 1 and 2. There is no reason they would be holding back that large a % of vaccine they’ve received. The real prob is they dont have enough people administering the shots.

I would say you have to run these vaccine clinics 24 / 7 (just like how i went for a ct scan at 2:30 am last year) but it might not be doable with how overrun the healtcare system is now. My wifes nurse friend showed us all the texts she received last week to pick up shifts at vaccine clinics AND regular nursing clinics. The nurses are being stretched super thin.

Dont remember where i saw it and can't recall the jurisdiction but i saw a health authority reached out to naturopaths to see if they would help administer vaccinations and that made me chuckle a bit considering the high antivaxxer demo in that group

Well I don't know for sure about Ontario but Ford's pal Kenney here in AB has been firing nurses and alienating doctors into relocation. Not the best practice when you want to administer as many doses as possible. Or just in general during the worst pandemic in 100 years.

Yeah and I'm guessing there's a pretty significant number of untested cases there. Was only a matter of time.

Also a flight still coming into YVR tomorrow.

We're basically asking for it at this point.

Why can't we be more like New Zealand? Heck, I'd settle for Australia at this point.

80% of the daily reported cases for over the past 365 days coming through our airports in bc have been from other cdn provinces and they start considering this now :ohwell:

It still blows my mind that we had international travel closed and then just re-opened it without any fanfare while the virus was still raging in so many places. Those people then hop on domestic flights to their final destinations and spread it everywhere.

At the very least, once these variants exploded it should've been shut down again. Probably would've prevented what's happening now.
