He took 3-4 full steps in 1/4 of a second? Seriously? He had the ball for like 1/4 of a second, IMO, that doesn't constitute possession. Don't get taken in by super slow motion replays.

full speed or slow mo, the guy took 3 steps after catching the ball. clear fumble. ....at the very least should not have been reversed. And as for the catch or fumble call, watching it in full speed, it was clearly a drop.
Because by rule replay only gets involved with targeting if they can CONFIRM every aspect. The defender wrapped up with no launch.
You don't know this about me, but I have a massive head. If any damage was done, it would've been to my usually very tight helmet.Again, the head trauma you suffered from your poor tackling technique is affecting your judgment. Please seek treatment immediately.
You're taught at a young age to put your shoulder into a ball carrier. Craning your neck backwards is unnatural. When you're running at a full-on sprint and the QB crouches down, there's nothing that could be done differently. It was a horrible call that completely changed the game.
Exactly!!! that was a clear target and the game has no place for a play like that. helmet to helmet by itself is not targeting.Bingo.
It's fucking football. Hard hits happen. There are dirty plays like the OU DB against LSU that were clearly targeting, but this was not, and it dramatically changed the outcome of the game.

This was what I didn't get from even the guy with the announcers. What does it matter if it was slow mo or real time? Either way the guy took 3 clear steps. That's a catch. He took 3-4 full steps in 1/4 of a second? Seriously?
I think both were wrong, but worse was the fumble reversal. Shoulsn't matter what it looks like in real time as opposed to slow mo. Real time and slow mo the guy took 3 steps after catching it.
Bingo.

When it doesn't take into account intent and has no area for actual judgement, it's wrong, especially when it so dramatically changes the outcome of a game. Also, Chase Young had his facemask grasped and his helmet pulled halfway off his head on the same play and it wasn't called. Just a horrible job by the officials overall on that play.it was a correct call, but I agree the rule does suck and needs to be looked into.
Launch is an or part of the penalty.
fuck it, done arguing about this stupid shit

Why does forward progress change if a WR has full possession of a football? That makes 0 sense at all.then are we going to say forward progress was clearly stopped when you looked in slow motion or do we only use slow motion just for the fumble?
How was that clearly a drop? He possessed it with two hands, never once bobbled it, and took 3-4 steps. Honestly, what even constitutes a catch if that's not it?

Nah, I've had a massive dome since I was a little kid. Never could wear hats very well.Cranial swelling as well, eh? It's worse than I originally thought.

Then clearly changes need to be made.you aren’t saying anything that every other fan base has said at some point this season, but it is still a penalty
