There was forcible contact. The "launch" you describe is not required.
Targeting is supposed to be the worst of the worst unsportsmanlike hits. Like the one in the earlier game. This one was not close to the one by the Oklahoma player.

Nah, I've had a massive dome since I was a little kid. Never could wear hats very well.

Got it. Knew I recognized you from somewhere.

Dang......gotta retire the good ol’ “O-H-31-0” now. :tsk:

Good thing we can replace it with “O-H-I-0-4”

Why the fuck are you so worried about my "three exclamation points"? Also why the fuck do you care, if I was yelling? My comment #914 wasn't directed toward you.

You, of all people, asking me why I care because your comment wasnt directed at me, is beyond the pale. You are the undisputed king of butting your head into an exchange between others to play coy with some dumbshit question, usually followed up with that stupid fucking head-scratching emoji. Piss off you worthless sack of cat shit

Why does forward progress change if a WR has full possession of a football? That makes 0 sense at all.

because a play is dead when the runners forward progress is stopped. That is why they mark WRs at the spot of forward progress, not where they end up after

Both were targeting. Did the OU player do it with intent? Yes. Does that mean the OSU one is not a penalty? No.

Intent is not required.

Good news is that you have 8 full months to plead your case to the NCAA to change the rule.

:lol::lol::lol:
I hope if my team ever becomes irrelevant like yours this type of trolling is not the best I can get from a football season.

then are we going to say forward progress was clearly stopped when you looked in slow motion or do we only use slow motion just for the fumble?

I don't think forward progress dead ball rulings are reviewable. The officials either blow the whistle or not.

The biggest mistake Ohio State made was that stupid punt block attempt. Could have had the ball at midfield with a 2 point lead. Go in for a TD there, and it would have been tough for Clemson to win. Either way, great start by Ohio State, great recovery by Clemson, great back and forth 4th quarter and GREAT GAME. Somebody has to lose, and I wish it would not have been Ohio State, but them's the breaks.

Bingo.

It's fucking football. Hard hits happen. There are dirty plays like the OU DB against LSU that were clearly targeting, but this was not, and it dramatically changed the outcome of the game.

I personally disagree with targeting calls as a whole. I think football is football, and most are incidental and it's absurd to eject a player for it. That said, by the rulebook, that was targeting, and there's a reason everyone is saying it. The catch/no catch was a really close call. It was nearly instantaneous because of Okudah's great play. I didn't think there was possession, and it really didn't affect anything, because Ohio State scored because of the good field position any way. But there were terrible calls and no-calls on both sides. After Clemson woke up, they outscored the Buckeyes 29-7, and those didn't affect that. But it sounds like really sore apples when all you do is complain instead of saying good game. It was a good physical game and a lot of players on both sides got really beat up. Ohio State is a hell of a team and is extremely young. They played really hard (harder than I ever saw a Meyer team play). They deserved all the hype. They'll be back next year.

I said it earlier and I’ll say it again

Osu will milk the targeting penalty in this game for years, just like the PI in the Miami game...it’s always the refs fault

And just like when you said it before, no one will care and some might even laugh at you because jim harbaugh is your coach

actually seen reversals on forward progress stopped with replays. Replay is mostly good, but it is still a double edged sword. I don’t think it really applies, because live I didn’t think it was a catch. I am just pointing out with replay you can come up with a lot of things you would not even think of watching it live

Nope. Not required. But we've seen worse hits let go. Lawrence stays upright he hits him in his chest. Not really debatable.

As far as calls go, sometimes they go your way, sometimes they don't. If a team is as great as they are perceived to be, put that shit behind you and play more fucking ball. If a team scores, what is a great team supposed to do? Come out and score, not get into the woe is me attitude. So, you ain't gonna let an opposing player change your attitude, but you gonna let some dude in a striped shirt change your attitide?

Just imagine if you had won this game only to get blown out by LSU...then the ribbing would have endured the rest of the offseason.

No one will be talking about this game 2 weeks from now.

Not to be an asshole, but I have been quoted as saying referees decide at least half of the close football games in college and the nfl. The referees were the difference in this game.
