Still impossible to compare tough, but it seems like that would be the most likely comparison for Clemson to use for this matchup. Perkins 64% and 18 and 11 in the ACC. Fields 67% and 40 and 1 against the Big 10. But I still think even though Ohio St has been great in the secondary this year this is going to be their toughest challenge easily, if Clemson can limit the Ohio St DL it will give Lawrence time and that could be big trouble. I don't see Ohio St really limiting these WR's unless Lawrence just either has a bad game or the DL gets crazy pressure. A huge key.
But as far as Fields, I don't care about him running as much to get yards as to just keeping the defense off balanced. Fields needs to hit his open throws but it comes down to the OL and Dobbins in this one for this Ohio St offense imo
I think that's mostly correct. I think Clemson's OL vs Ohio State's DL is the key matchup, as I said a few pages back in my analysis. Clemson's offensive line is #1 in yards per rush and top 5 in sacks. Ohio State's defensive line is top 5 in sacks and top 10 in yards per rush allowed. Another factor is Tanner Muse. He's Clemson's safety, and while he's great against the run and blitzing, he has the hips of an 80 year old man. If he's in coverage, he'll get burned, and Simmons constantly has to go save him, and that's not where Clemson wants Simmons playing.
