Carlisle is a solid coach. But he's above average at best.

He's not really all that special, imo.

The Celtics have a young roster, a young GM and now, a young Head Coach. Maybe they'll have an easier time getting everyone on the same page. From the outside looking in, it hasn't always looked like the FO and the HC and roster were all on the same page over the past few years.

Im criticizing the search more than the guy himself

when you weed out half the pool for non basketball reasons, it’s a bad search and you deserve to have it go horribly wrong

they are making themselves really hard to root for with 90s clippers like trades and terrible virtue signaling
