Yeah, you kind of answered my question in the other post you made while I was typing it out. Assuming the Brewers are using analytics, the strikeout rate combined with the high BABIP may show that it will be tough for him to repeat last year's numbers.

that's not to say that he can't cut down on the strikeouts. Kris Bryant has managed to cut his rate from 30.6% down to 19.2% (which is below the league average) in a two year span.

it is possible they're skeptical on Santana and the rest of their young outfielders, and they figured they'd remedy that by bringing in two long-term answers in Cain and Yelich.

Yeah, Yelich was the most surprising to me because they already had Cain and gave up a bunch of prospects for him.

That makes sense. Too bad they're not still in the AL

Yeah combinebyour first post with the abysmal defense and you see why they may try to sell high

Yeah, I guess the play would be to send Santana to an AL team coming off a good offensive year

They actually traded for Yelich first.

Now it makes less sense again. Unless they really just don't trust Santana's defense and are planning to move him to an AL team.

Yeah I thought it was odd to go for Cain When Nelson is out. The lack of pitching is a huge issue.
Um, there is still plenty of pitching out there and they already have like 7 starters on the roster

Frankly I’d also rather trade for Braun’s deal than pay jd any more than what was already rumored to be on the table.
Brauns not going anywhere but the Dodgers he said. He also said he wouldn't play 3B but is good with 1B, 2B and SS

Has to be by trade.

You think they have the budget to sign a Cobb now?

We’re you counting Nelson or Hader amongst the 7?

Yeah, Nelson (their best starter) probably won't be back until at least June. Suter has 103.1 major league innings under his belt. I'm not sure you can really call him a reliable option just yet. Anderson had a good year, but regression is expected. Gallardo sucks now.

And the Brewers just announced that Hader is starting the year in the pen.
