I was the first person to post how stupid Thornton was. It's the members who act like no Pens player has ever wronged a player with dirty cheap shots that have me posting my replies. Ulf's and Cooke's actions are ancient history so let's forget they ever happened right? There's a reason the league is taking so much time to get the dirty play and fighting out of the game. Far too many people like it and sadly I doubt it'll be out of the game in my lifetime.

You continue to reach for straws. None of this constitutes what happened on the ice. Mario didn't publicly chastise Cooke (although there's plenty of evidence he did in private) so clearly Thornton should go attack Brooks Orpik in 2013.

you're not paying attention pix... its karma so that is allowed.....

on a very serious note I hope orpik is ok that reminded me eerily of bertuzzi on moore not the actual style of attack but the result and potential serious injury. did this all start on a open hit on a bruins player from orpik and he didnt fight thorton so he got him later?

Well Letang better watch it, twice now he gave a cheap shot after getting hit clean.

As for periods of hockey the second so far has been way more entertaining as a hockey game.

But how is that relevant to your disputes with our opinions? Do you presume we control Mario's actions?

I'm not disputing your opinions. You have the right to them. All I've done is point out the shoe is on the other foot, aka the Pens foot, at times. And my point on Mario is he never bitched about any dirty play by Pens players, ever. It wasn't until Sid took a questionable hit that concussed him that Mario started the crusade. He had no problem with his teammate Ulf ending careers/injuring players, and didn't cry foul about Cooke until Sid. As a highly skilled hall of fame player and then owner he should have championed clean play far earlier than he did.

Then we agree. Just take a breath. My point is that those players are irrelevant to what occurred tonight. I was 1 year old when Ulf kneed Neely. I never ever stood up for Cooke. Some Pens fans did, just like there are B's fans on twitter tonight saying "Fuck Orpik, I hope he never wakes up." There are bad fans everywhere, I don't label you as one, which is why your fight to make this seem okay because a few former players hurt former Bruins is bizarre to me.

For people who don't like fighting in the NHL, you sure don't seem to mind fighting on a message board.

Message board debate doesn't involve fisticuffs or potential physical injury. They are "fights" only in an extremely figurative way.

Yeah that happened, was definitely part of it, there was also a play in which James Neal kneed Marchand about 10 seconds before the Thornton/Orpik play, that could have been a cause as well.

After the nice penalty kill by the Bruins on the double minor the Pens better stop them on this PP if not I see the Bruins taking this one in the end.

Ulf and Cooke are history and not relevant. Thornton was wrong in the way he went about it with Orpik. Let me say I can see how he gets pushed over the edge though. Orpik hits and injures Eriksson with a questionable at best hit predatory at worst. Thornton later tries to make Orpik atone for his actions. He refuses and Thornton is sent to the box. Then Marshand gets kneed in the head and there is a gathering of players and one is Orpik. He takes his shot. He will be suspended for that and should be.

Except that you're deluding yourself into thinking we're not aware that the shoe has been on our foot. But those incidents and this incident are unrelated.

And how many owners have you heard chastise their players, exactly?

Iggy with a hold, and Marchand being...well, his usual self. Don't let him get to you Olli.
