He had a bad stretch at the end there with the Vikings but other than that I think he has been really good on defense. I thought he was pretty consistently good on the Bengals.

You mentioned quick penetration. Does Dallas still run the 4-3 Miami Jimmy Johnson style defense?
Zimmer doesn't get enough credit for what he meant to the Bengals organization. From 2008-2013 the Bengals D covered up all sorts of limitations of the offense. Zimmer was great with scheme and great at getting the most out of players including guys that were busts in other places. I thought he did a nice job in Minnesota as well - But, expectations changed when they gave Cousins all that money and I just don't think Cousins is the guy that's going to lead you to playoff success.

I'm not going to write him off days after he lost his father. Who knows what headspace he was in. Improvement is definitely needed, both from Watson and the play calling.

But it wasn't just this game. He has not played well since he arrived in Cleveland. If I'm the Browns I'm hoping this latest scandal will be enough to get out of that contract.

Oh wait. I guess it's 73 mil if they keep him and looks like 172 mil dead cap next year and just under 100 mil for 2026. Can somebody out there confirm if I'm reading that right? I think they can do like Denver and spread that dead cap over 2 years but I don't really know.

They are running a completely different offense than he ran in Houston.

The coaching staff needs to tweak their offense to fit what Watson is good at so he can succeed like he did when he was with the Texans.

I refuse to believe he is completely washed at 28. Especially, after having almost 2 seasons off.

I think the missing piece for Cleveland and Watson is Josh Gordon.

Three things I saw:

(1) Passes going through the receiver's hands.
(2) Receivers not getting to their spots.
(3) When Watson scrambled, which was often, not once did I ever see a receiver coming back to the ball to help him out.

I thought Watson played pretty well, but he needs a little help from his teammates.
Huh? Often WRs or OL did him no fanors but watson was a disaster.

I'm curious to know how long the locker room can tolerate this. I know these guys are proud and they are pros but the other guys gotta be getting pretty pissed at this. I don't think Winston gives them a ton of hope but there will come a time when Stefanski will just realize Watson's crap is adversely effecting the rest of the team.
Guessing a lot of them - right or wrong - like the guy. Did vote him captain again. and many wanted to come here because of him.

I might have to watch the whole game the stat line is 2-15 levels of hot mess.

Jerry Jeudy had 25 yards on 8 targets
Amari Cooper had 16 yards on 9 targets
Elijah Moore had 9 yards on 6 targets
Watson sacked 6 times

Not even sure how much of the good plays were garbage time. Maybe just regroup and play even average and the Browns should be a great football team.
The guy was awful. No way around it.

That and when he made a good throw I counted 5-6 drops. Moore dropped two or three, Cooper dropped one, Njoku dropped one. Not sure if there were more. A lot of throws out of bounds too, either throwing away or just missing his target.
Just a complete disaster by the offense.

If he continues to be awful and we can use it to our advantage great......but this sure seems like another cash grab. Now they are saying they have video evidence AND a witness. But they never went to the police?

I mean, Stefanski has gotten good or even really good QB play out of guys like Brissett, Baker, Keenum, a washed up Flacco, etc. It is possible watson is the issue and has lost it. But at 29 hope that's not the case.
