but is it?
I know Texas DA decided to not pursue, but I thought some of these other accusations were Massage therapists from other states as well?
Could be wrong, but if so, those states could still look into it.
They were all from TX.

Sure his market isn't what it is but they can literally hold him on the roster. Probably not a great idea after the NFL draft but a team could get desperate, early injuries in training camp, etc. I don't think it gets to that point but like I said there are other options than straight cutting him.

Include a pick or eat a portion of his salary are two.

I agree. Cutting him would be stupud for numerous reasons. They can find a way to deal him. Somebody will need a QB at some point.

You don't want him anyway so what's it to YOU! At this point the only thing that matters is getting him off the books. That's 18M to spend or carryover.
In a normal NFL he has a market and mid-round pick. This isn't a normal NFL...looking at this offseason, it's something I didn't consider. I will admit.

Clarification of the trade-

Browns end up giving up more than was originally reported. Original report was three 1sts, a 3rd, and a 5th. Then three 1sts, a 3rd and a 4th.
It's actually two 4ths. Here's the official haul:

1st & 4th 2022
1st & 3rd 2023
1st & 4th 2024

Browns receive Watson and a 6th in 2024.

I saw Peter King make what I thought was an interesting observation on the Watson potential league action. He suggested Goodell might wait until the civil suit is finished and then suspend him in 2023. It would actually cost Watson a huge chunk of his money then as opposed to this year and eliminate that loophole the Browns have in this.Of course, actual criminal proceedings could change all of this again. A lot of shit is going to be in play here before all is said and done.

Can you even imagine the reaction from Brown fans if Watson ends up doing some time in prison? Then of course the NFL punishment on top of that. Wonder if the Browns could void Watson contract.
Normally I'd say definitely when signing a guy with that type of history off the field, but the Browns bent over so much for him that I wonder...

Only the Cleveland Browns!

Finally get a legit, unquestioned top 10 talented QB in the league who is only 26 years old and all fans have to do except celebrate is defend his past legal actions and talk about how they are going to get rid of the guy he is replacing.

Cursed!

2 years from today when Cleveland is heading into the offseason in which it will be at least their 2nd postseason visit in a row yet they still dont have a 1st round pick, Cleveland fans can bump this thread, give all the haters 2 middle fingers and say "So worth it".

This case is just so weird. Watson wants out and charges come up. McNair and Buzbee are great friends and next door neighbors. As soon as he gets traded, a 2020 case comes back up. All criminal charges are dropped. I mean didn’t they have video evidence of Kraft? They have nothing on Watson. Now that has nothing to do with his suspension from the NFL but like I said before, I expect one but nothing more than half of a season.
