Elway today said that most of his time spent on the draft so far has been scouting and talking about the OL. Said the OL is one of the top priorities in both FA and the Draft to improve the team.

Right now i have him #22 to the Texans. He will also test well at the combine.

Great fit for the Texans. There has been some buzz about the Raiders even taking him earlier in the first. I think they nab a CB (without knowing what goes on in FA) but there is gonna be some good value at CB for them depending on how the next few months go and that is a HUGE need for them.

Also really like Western Kentucky TE Tyler Higbee, very good production this year and good things from him at the combine.

Jason Spriggs had himself a heck of a Combine from what I can tell. Looks like so far he has been the fastest 40 time and actually clocked in going over 20 mph. Then you throw in the guy finished top-5 in the bench press as well.

I'm not a big fan of the 225 - but Whitehair only having 16 reps is poor. Some skill position players do more than that. Otherwise, yes, looks like he's done well.

I have a couple of guys that I talk with that are past scouts that said the bench press is probably their least favorite drill at the entire combine. They said the don't care one bit about those numbers and that they get exaggerated by the media and fans. I do agree it is a bit concerning but when I watch his games and I see his speed I think he can overcome some strength issues.

I've lifted a lot of weights in my life and there is definitely technique involved. Seen some guys that never used weights much and sucked when they did attempt to but we're strong as an ox when it came to everything else. When I used to wrestle, it was the lanky guys that would fool you with their strength. Those were the ones I was wary of, not the guys with the weight lifting biceps. I'm sure you could find many pro bowl lineman that sucked at reps if you looked.

Plenty NFL players that never lifted a weight . but that was more 20+ years ago kind of thing I believe ?

There are guys naturally strong.

To me I guess it boils down to do I see functional strength on the field? I need to watch a few more games of Whitehair but I saw him move guys. I would also add that technique wise not sure I have seen a better OL guy in this draft. He does an incredible job with his feet. Heck I saw him pull as a LT clear across the entire OL effortlessly and be in perfect position to make a block and lead to a big run. That type of athleticism in my opinion is rare especially to just look that effortless. He is quickly climbing my list of top guys I like.

IMO 90% of Football has not a thing with strength more of a will thing in my mind .. Players always find a way to get it done .. When players get on rolls it is about the mind going out of control Miller coming into the league was scrawny .. I liked his burst to football waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better ..(More of a NFL body now ) but I will agree his overall game is now better maybe not getting at the QB quiet as good but ..

Sounds like Jaylon Smith had a terrible day. The medical checks did not go well. Sounds like there is some nerve damage in his leg and his recovery is looking much longer than before. 2016 almost for certain is out and some are talking even longer. So he could really see his stock tumble.

Another guy that could tumble is that of Robert Nkemdiche.

His interviews did not go well with the media. Started naming other players who were in the room with him when he was caught with weed and jumped out of a window falling 15 feet.

First off blamed the media for tarnishing his name. I would say getting caught with weed then trying to fly probably didn't help that.

He also admitted that he was lazy in college and liked to take plays off. Said he was working on that but not exactly what coaches want to hear when they are investing a top pick in you. Hope the kid gets it turned around as his talent level is off the charts.

The NFL Network today when looking at Derrick Henry were actually using Von Miller as his comparison in the NFL. They both came into the league about the same height, weight, and speed. The issue though and what makes Von Miller such an incredible player for his size is more about his change of direction speed. In the 3 cone drill Von Miller ran his in 6.7 seconds. Derrick Henry 7.2 seconds. Huge difference in ability to change direction yet keep your speed up or get back up to top speed in a hurry. I like Henry as a RB but this is one of my 2 biggest concerns in he just doesn't have that sudden change of direction that is needed to have those back side cuts in our ZBS. The other is his height in people are going to be taking shots at his legs. Can he hold up?
