Highly unlikely. Lil J is a Payton pet. Love Payton but he is well known for having his own pets like Lil J. He had them in New Orleans and that hasn't changed in Denver. Just something to get use to. Unlike Elway making decisions he doesn't cut cords when they start to wear out. He has his guys just like most other coaches. Lil J is one of "those guys", he is on the PS at worst this year... I hate that we cut Brandon Johnson and Jalen Virgil for this guy and give him more reps then Marvin Mims.

Honestly, I would MUCH rather AT Perry on the field than Lil J. Lil J can block. I will give him that... He isn't horrible it just really bothers me that we kept him and give him reps over a lot of the other guys mentioned above. I would rather David Sills on the field than him too.
Payton said after game no more my bad we’ll find some else to play WR.

he’s fed up with the fumbles

Same guy as the last 3 weeks. Alex Forsyth. Wattenburg still on IR.
The reason I asked was when we Alex our Running Game went way better .. Not sure what went on yesterday with that .. Did or RT come back if so I know the answer to what might of happened ?

McGlinchey came back two weeks ago (prior to the Saints) game when we ran the ball REALLY well. Palczewski is still injured.

We really passed the ball a lot this game and it makes sense to me. Pass the ball on a poor pass defense in which it helps Bo grow.

I don't think the blocking was the biggest issue for the run game in this one. I think the bigger issue was Javonte not having great vision. He missed some very easy cut back lanes that were wide open. He also looked more hesitant in this one than in the last few weeks for some reason. Could be he wasn't trusting his eyes to see something making him play slow.

I also think Carolina did a lot to sell out for the run game daring the Broncos to have the rookie beat them. They played a lot more man coverage than most teams have played against the Broncos and Nix made them pay.

My final thing here is the Broncos did not use Nix as a runner in this one like they did the week before. I think they are saving some of that for this week against a tough run defense in Baltimore. Make them have to respect that Nix could pull it at any time and have a big play from the QB position. Let Baltimore know they are not the only team with a running QB.

I agree with this.

5-3....playing good enough to win.
Can we find a way to win five of the last nine games? No team since there has been a 17 week season with 10 wins has not made the playoffs.

Nice article on Vele and Franklin

I'm starting to lean towards Vele being that guy for the Broncos this year. He has some nice chemistry with Nix and is one of the few that understands what to do in a scramble drill. I think one of my biggest critiques of the Bronco receivers for the past couple of years is when Wilson would scramble they all just kept running their same route and when it was done they just stopped. Vele has shown a few times when Nix scrambles he understands the need to come back to the ball and give Nix a target within his vision.

Portis retired years ago.
I remember watching his 5 TD game for the Broncos. He was a very gifted runner. Still Champ Bailey made the Broncos a winner in the trade.

I think thats the last pro bowl level player trade on both sides trade Denver made. I loved that trade.
