Tyler Boyd, WR, Pitt

Am I the only one who sees us going WR early right now?

We need a 3rd if Latimer isn't the answer and Sanders contract is up. Next year.

Carroo
Boyd
Lawler
Addison

Please dear lawd!

Any thoughts on Demarcus Ayers, DC? I thought he probably should have come back for his senior season, but I think that the kid could become a big time play maker. Not as polished a route runner perhaps as Tyler Lockette, who I hoped we might draft, was this time last year, but very similar in speed and athleticism, in my opinion.

Yeah, I really like Demarcus Ayers. Plus, he played for UH, which is always a plus, in my opinion!

There are actually several UH players who I think might drafted. CB William Jackson III will probably be the first UH player drafted. I really like him. Excellent coverage/ball skills, speed, and fluidity, in my opinion.

Also love the two safeties Trayvon Stewart and Adrian McDonald, both of whom I think have a chance to be drafted. Both have a knack for taking the ball away and Stewart is very good on kick coverage.

Love RBs Kenneth Farrow and Ryan Jackson. Farrow is a big, powerful back, who also shows great patience, and is an outstanding blocker. Jackson is more of speedy back who is an outstanding receiver. Don't know if either will be drafted, but I expect both to be in an NFL training camp this summer.

Also think that DT Tomme Mark and LT Zach Johnson have a chance to play in the league.

Finally, probably my favorite UH defender this year was ILB Elandon Roberts. He led the team in tackles, but I'm afraid he might be too small at 6-0, 230 lbs.

The crying shame is - Houston ought to be in the Big12, but Texas and maybe the other Texas schools don't want them in. Oklahoma - ie - their president Boren (former Gov) wants OU out.

Yeah, I don't think that the Big 12 has any interest in adding another TX school. I don't really get why. I think that Houston could be a "sleeping giant", but of course I am biased.

Well TD I will have to look into some of those players. Here in 3 weeks when our season is done and we are picking 31st (remember Pats don't have a 1st round pick) I'll definitely get into draft mode a whole lot more. I've watched probably 20 prospects so far and only a handful of games for each. I'm usually a little further in the draft process by now but hey having a little kid at home that loves to stay up till all hours of the night hasn't really helped out. Oh well much rather have her than watch a bunch of draft videos.

I think we need a big tall WR that has glue for hands and is a red zone threat .Same with a TE .

Love Ayers- Productive... I think he works out pretty well.

Speaking of Houston. Just did an interview with Adrian McDonald over the phone last night. I will send it to ya once I have it posted. Good dude.

Farrow and Jackson are interested. I liked Farrow at first coming out then Jackon over took him. Liked Jackson then Farrow sorta overtook him. I like both. Not as starters in the NFL, but they have a shot as a role player type of role....

Agree, neither gets drafted but both should be in a camp.

Also like William Jackson and Treveon Stewart.

Was shocked when McDonald told me he wasn't invited to any of the post season SR bowls considering there are ike 8 now.

Ball hawk!

He needs work in coverage, but he is a ball hawk galore and very willing tackler. Sometimes I wonder if he will be moved to S in the NFL like Micah Hyde of Iowa was. I've got this feeling he may slip a bit and one of these playoff teams will steal him and turn him into a ball hawking S... Not that his coverage skills are bad but I really like his range as a S, but would need to add some weight. Too small in muscle ton for a S right now, but so was Micah Hyde coming out.

I also have this bad feeling abut a good playoff team stealing Carroo like the Steelers or Patriots.

The more I watch Jayron Kearse the less I like of him as a prospect.

I hope he does well, and I am rooting for him, but on film he doesn't ring top 2 round pick to me.

I like his height which at times can be a concern at S, but he just doesn't make the plays you would want a rd 2 pick to make.. I like his tackling ability, he isn't a bad tackler but he just doesn't seem to be as willing as I would like for a S going that high. I feel like he has the upside, but he really needed another year in college. Boom or bust type pick IMO that I would see more of as 3rd/4th rd pick.

He just doesn't stand out on film to me.

this is how I felt the more games of his I watched. When in a situation where he had to make a tackle he for the most part did. I rarely saw him come in and help gang tackle though. As soon as he saw one of his teammates hit the ball carrier he would stop his pursuit. That is a very quick way to give up a huge play. Now his coverage skills do making him intriguing. He definitely showed promise in this area. I'm just not sure I am ready to see us use a premium pick on a guy that really is such a huge project. He really would just be a 3rd down specialist that I would still worry about how he would do being so raw being asked to cover some of the top TE's in the league.

Agree- Just not aggressive enough for my taste at S... You better be a ballhawk with great cover skills or you better be fearless as a tackler for me to take ya in the first few rounds. He has the tools. My gut tells me he is a 3rd rounder because of the tools, unless he works off the charts and gets himself into the 2nd. He got a 2nd round grade but I really think the more teams watch film he will slide into that the 3rd and if he doesn't work out well he could be one of those guys on the "surprised he is still there" in round 4 category by the random fan.

Denver has shown an interested in South Carolina State DT Javon Hargrave, a 3-4 DE.. Quick and explosive. He gets off the ball very quick.

Hargrave will be in the Shrine bowl this weekend if you want to watch him.

@cdumler7 Do me a favor if you watch the Shrine... A good friend of mine Jordan Lomax of Iowa will be playing in the game. Tell me what you think.

Yeah I will keep an eye out for him. My wife and child went back to her hometown for a week so I actually have some time to watch on some of these guys finally! Kind of excited to dig into the draft side of things.
