Laughable and embarrassing POV on your part. SMH at a fellow Lakers fan believing this delusional rubbish.

To me, the Russell/Wilt debate is similar to the Lebron/Kobe debate. If you think rings are most important, you favor Russell. If you look at who the better basketball player was, then you favor Wilt.

Russell has more rings than Wilt for the same reason Kobe has more rings than Lebron, he was on better teams.

Russell and Kobe are/were great players, top 10 all-time players. But just as Lebron is a better basketball player than Kobe. Wilt was a better basketball player than Russell.

Detlef Schrempf.

Has no purpose in this thread whatsoever.

I just like that name.

The guy was phenomenal and could do everything on the floor but was stuck on bad teams. If his career was with the Celtics, he'd have walked away with allot more respected.

That said, Magic and Showtime's home-away-from-home always seemed to be Seattle back in those days. How many times did the Lakers sweep them in the playoffs?

"Why bring up Kobe and LeBron? This is a serious discussion. Got post it on the everything LeBron thread!!"

I agree with all of this, but the GOAT list is much more about accomplishments than skill level is it not?

That's what makes it an interesting debate. Very subjective. For me, I look at all-around skill set and intangibles which is why Magic is the GOAT, imo. But others may weigh accomplishments more heavily.

It's like trying to decide on the MVP. For some, it's the best player on one of the best teams. Others look at which player has the most impact on his team.
