Oh yeah, well I know who Elmo is!Never heard of Elmore Smith. But I know who Elmore James is.
Good one, mentioned aboveAdrian Dantley
The main thread got me thinking about these.
The biggest ones are the usual names: Barkley, Ewing, Drexler, Malone, and Stockton
Next tier slightly down is Reggie Miller, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill, Gary Payton, Steve Nash, Chris Mullin, Chris Webber, Allen Iverson...
Who am I missing?
I'm leaving out current players, they can always ring chase before they retire (Chris Paul, Harden, Russ, etc)
Another nice catch, thanks. Take him and Drexler out.Gary Payton won one with the Heat in '06
Never heard of Elmore Smith. But I know who Elmore James is.
Elmore "The Rejector" Smith
Time to ejikate yerself: In '73-'74 he averaged 4.9 blocks per game. Every time he blocked a shot Chick Hearn would say "Elmore The Rejector Smith. So when my friends and I were playing basketball, if we blocked a shot, we'd say the same thing. lol

Payton had more longevity, but Kemp had the flashier game. Payton was the better all around player and higher peak due to his defense. Both were really fun to watch. A poor mans Stockton/Malone
Shawn Kemp?
IMO, Shawn Kemp is another tier below. I wouldn't put him on the same level as the guys above. He's definitely not better than Webber.
I agree and any list Kemp goes on Payton has to go with him.
I have Payton above Kemp
Already corrected above ^^^Payton won a championship in Miami with Shaq in 2006.
