Maybe it has been but I missed it...

We always do GOAT lists and whatever, compare rings won, and sometimes someone jokes about Barkley or who ever not getting a ring...got me thinking

Who are the top 5 players all time to not win a ring? Active players must be over 35

Not sure the order but gotta be something like Malone, Barkley, Ewing, Stockton, Paul right? With not far off Reggie Miller and Webber and Iverson and TMac...?

I would like to switch Iverson with Paul but that might just because of positions. I think of Ewing as the center, Malone as the power forward, Barkley as the small forward, Iverson as the shooting guard, and Stockton as the point guard. I understand you’re not making a team, you’re just listing your potential top five. However, I think that my natural condition of position makes me want to switch Paul with Iverson.

Do we count Baylor as winning a ring?

He retired IMMEDIATELY before the start of the 33-game win streak.

I like the reminder on those other 4 besides Ewing, they'd be top 15 for sure maybe a couple of them top ten. But is this your top 5?

For me it’s Ewing, Barkley, Malone, Stockton and Miller.

1) Charles Barkley
2) Karl Malone
3) Patrick Ewing
4) John Stockton
5) George Gervin

I think the first 4 should be consensus top 4, just the order probably might differ for some. The 5 spot gets interesting and probably comes down mostly to preference.

Elgin Baylor
Allen Iverson
Dominique Wilkins
Reggie Miller
Nate Thurmond

CP3
James Harden
Russell Westbrook
Damian Lillard

Stockton/Malone is some of the worst timing of all time. They started their peak when Dream became destroyer of Hall of Fame Centers, and then once they passed that team Jordan had returned with maybe the greatest team of all time. They shift their peak by 1 year in either direction and they get a ring.

Anyway, My list:
1. Barkley
2. Stockton
3. Malone
4. Ewing
5. Baylor

What's interesting about the 'obvious 4' is they were all blocked by playing in MJ's era

The other interesting thing is that the actives who would be considered also have something in common.

Only half the story.

Melo, absolutely. Probably Russ and Harden too because he beat them while with the Heat.

CP3 and Dame are all Curry.
